TODAY IN HISTORY
1932: Altona Bloody Sunday — Communists, antecedents of today’s “Antifa,” attack a march by 7,000 National Socialists in Altona, Prussia, resulting in 18 deaths. Ten months later, the new National Socialist government of Germany puts 15 Communist bosses responsible for the attack on trial for murder. Four of the accused were convicted and sentenced to death — and beheaded — on 1 August 1933.
