Woman raped during house robbery
-
The police are on a manhunt, after two offenders stormed into a house on the Vlakplaas smallholding and raped a woman in the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.
-

-
Spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said a woman was raped when two men broke into her house on Sunday. “It is believed the men broke into the house at about 02:45 and found the 31-year-old woman sleeping in her bedroom. They pointed a firearm at her and ordered her to undress. One man raped her and thereafter they took her Blackberry cellphone, clothing and jewellery and fled the scene. The items are estimated to a value of R5 000,” he said.
A case of house robbery and rape was opened at Erasmia police for investigation. No arrests have been made.
“We appeal to the public or any person with information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to contact their nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Moloto said.

Stop White South African Genocide
A white woman has become the latest victim of violent anti-immigrant protests sweeping South Africa after she was left covered in blood when rocks were thrown through her car window.
So far six people are believed to have been killed in the violent protests which started two weeks ago in Durban, a key port on South Africa's Indian Ocean coast, spreading to Johannesburg.
In the latest show of violence around 200 protesters, shouting that they wanted immigrants to leave the country, pelted passing vehicles and the police with rocks.
Carol Lloyd was forced to stop her car as she drove close to Jeppestown after she was injured when a rock smashed through her car window.
South African police responded to the wave of protests, which are motivated by the large number of immigrants and high unemployment rates, by firing rubber bullets and tear gas today to disperse the crowds. Also other photos of scenes around the East rand.

-
An Eastern Cape farmer has been found bludgeoned to death on his Alice farm.
-
Police spokesman Lieutenant Khaya Tonjeni said Ndiphiwe Maxham‚ 69‚ was discovered dead near his car on his Seymore farm on Wednesday afternoon by a relative.
“His daughter became alarmed when the deceased did not answer his phone. She then requested another relative to go to the farm and investigate. The relative found the body of the deceased near the farm house and alerted the police‚” Tonjeni said.
He said it seemed the deceased was assaulted to death as he did not have gunshot or stab wounds on him.
Said Tonjeni: “The initial investigation did not reveal that anything was stolen from the deceased. However‚ there was a report an attempt was made to burn his vehicle. A case of murder and malicious damage to property have been opened. No arrests have been made as yet. Police are following up on leads”.
The deceased’s son‚ Nchumani Maxham‚ said he was last seen on Tuesday morning leaving his Alice home saying he was going to visit the farm. He never came back.
“There are about 80 cattle and 60 goats in the farm‚ so he went there to check if everything was still fine. It was then that he was attacked‚” said Maxham.
He said his father had sustained injuries on the head‚ hands and chest.
He said the family and the Alice community were still in shock as they were in the dark over motives to kill his father.
“He was well known in this area having spent much of his life as a school teacher. Police have reassured us that they will get to the bottom of this matter‚” Maxham said.
The farmer is survived by his four children. - RDM News Wire

Intercape hijack…Fake cops stop bus, rob passengers at gun-point in SA
-

-
Auxilia Katongomara Chronicle Reporter
-
FORTY eight Zimbabweans endured a four-hour hijack horror aboard an Intercape bus in neighbouring South Africa yesterday. Four pistol and rifle wielding men got away with cash, cellphones and gadgets worth tens of thousands of dollars when they commandeered the Bulawayo/Johannesburg bus near Hammanskraal at around 3.30AM yesterday.
-
No one was injured in the robbery.
The bus company confirmed the robbery yesterday.
-
Passengers, who were still struggling to come to grips with the ordeal, told The Chronicle that the hijackers impersonated police officers to stop the bus.
-
They said the robbers locked the drivers in a compartment in the bus and took the passenger list.
-
“I was asleep when I heard loud screams. At first, I thought the bus had been involved in an accident. I nearly fainted when I saw a man waving a pistol in my face and demanding cash,” said a passenger who identified herself as MaBhebhe.
-
She said the man took R8,000 which she intended to spend on shopping in the neighbouring country.
-
“He also took my Samsung Galaxy S4 and camera. Everyone was terrified as we thought it was a xenophobic attack. We had seen images of people being burnt alive or viciously slashed with pangas. I thought they were going to burn the bus with everyone inside,” said MaBhebhe.
-
Another passenger who declined to be named said passengers complied with the gunmen’s demands as they feared being shot.
-
“When they flagged down the bus they appeared as if they were police officers. We were surprised when they produced guns,” said the passenger.
-
“Before they got to me, I hid my phone and about R10,000 in my panties. I gave the gunman R200 and he demanded my phone.”
-
She said she told the man she did not have a cellphone and he used the passenger list to find the mobile number of her next of kin and called her.
-
“He introduced himself as an Intercape driver and asked my sister for my phone number."
-
“I was sweating fearing he was going to dial my number and the phone would ring. My sister refused to give him the number, demanding to talk to me instead. She thought we had been involved in an accident,” said the woman.
-
She said the armed robber cut the phone and moved to the next passenger.
-
Another passenger said he lost about R40,000 to the robbers.
-
The bus arrived at Park Station at 10 m, five hours later than the scheduled time.
The bus company said the bus was hijacked in full view of police officers.
-
“Intercape can confirm that on 21 April at 03:30am an Intercape coach with 48 passengers on board was held up at the Carousel Tollgate at gun point by four armed men.
-
“The coach was in-bound from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, with 48 passengers, 5 drivers and one host on board. The coach passed through police presence at the tollgate and stopped on the other side of the tollgate to do a driver change,” read the statement.
The scheduled changeover was done at the tollgate under the lights in line of sight of the police and tollgate staff. “The coach was approached by four armed men who then forced the coach driver to proceed to an area out of sight of the police and tollgate staff.
-
The armed men then robbed the staff and passengers of valuables, cellphones and IT equipment,” read the statement.
The bus company said the incident was reported to the police. “A case of armed robbery was opened against the four armed men by Hammanskraal police. The bus proceeded to Johannesburg after police took statements from the passengers and the bus crew.
Passengers were assisted with further travel arrangements upon arrival at Johannesburg station,” said the bus company.
-
The bus incident comes in the wake of xenophobia attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa .
-
Xenophobic attacks broke out in Durban after King Zwelithini’s statement last month that foreigners should leave the country.

Three bodies found in the west
-
Three bodies found in the west of Pretoria have raised concerns about crime in the area.
-
Nthabiseng Madumo | April 24, 2015
-
The bodies of two men and a woman were found in the west of Pretoria within the past two weeks. All three cases are still under police investigation to determine the cause of death.
-
In the most recent discovery, the body of a 20-year-old mother of two was found in Danville. She was wrapped in a blanket and hidden under bushes.
Police spokesperson, Captain Thomas Mufamadi said the body was found by residents, who then alerted the Pretoria West community policing forum (CPF). “Police have opened an inquest docket and are investigating.” Police could not confirm speculation that Erasmus could have been murdered.
-
The dead woman was Marlien Erasmus, who lived in Booysens. According to friends and family she was a happy and bubbly person, full of life. An aunt who preferred not to be named said the family was struggling to accept her death. A friend of Erasmus, Theo Nel, said she was ‘an angel who was always there for him’. “People will never forget Marlien. If a person puts a hand on their heart and listens to the heartbeat, they will feel her heartbeat.”
-
Police are still investigating Erasmus’ death.
-
In the other cases, one man’s body was found in Claremont at around 19:00 on 7 April. “The man (53) was found in the park on the corner of Bremer and Hanny streets. We still do not know the cause of his death and police are investigating,” Captain Bonginkosi Msimango from the Hercules police station said.
-
The second man’s body (also in his fifties) was discovered in the bushes on the corner of Transoranje and W.F. Nkomo streets. According to an anonymous source, the man used to live in Proclamation Hill and was pulled from a stream. Pretoria West community policing forum deputy secretary, Atrichia E’Silva, said the Proclamation Hill man’s body was found by a passer-by.
-
“The CPF was called out to the scene. When we arrived, we found the man’s body in the bushes. We do not know what the cause of his death is, but that is part of police investigations,” E’Silva said, adding that the CPF was concerned about the increase in crime in the area. She said more police visibility was needed to help them with their daily patrols.
-
Police were still investigating the cases and were unable to give further information at the time of publication.

I copy and paste them from my address bar just like I always have. It always worked to make clickable links before. But now that I have a new version of the same browser...
-
I hate to be a pain in the ass - but maybe Cosmotheist or someone can go view my recent posts over the past week or so and fix the ones with dead links until I can figure out what the hell I need to do about it. It is pretty important that those links be clickable.
