Lueneburg, Germany: A 193-year-old former bookkeeper at Auschwitz
who is accused of assisting in the mass murder of Jews told a
German court that he felt morally guilty for his work at the Nazi
death camp, describing in detail the grisly killings he had witnessed
there. Since the trial commenced new charges have been brought by
witnesses who claim that they were forced to squat for painful hours
at a time on toes and hands in order to act as desks for Groening
and his clerical staff.

These shocking new witnesses allege that Groening, who hitherto fair-
minded Jewish lawyers in the case had not personally accused of any
crimes on the promise of a light sentence if he read the script they
had prepared to aid his failing memory as to the exact events which
took place at the worst house of horror in the history of humanity,
was in fact himself guilty.
Aided by a kindly Jewish multi-millionaire Holocaust survivor from the
town of Bad Doberan in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern the witnesses
were flown in his private Jet to Lueneburg and put them up in penthouse
suites at the exclusive five-star Altes Kaufhaus hotel along with adequate
funds "to compensate for the horror they were about to have to re-live in
the court where Oskar Groening, in what could be one of Germany's last
big Holocaust trials, is accused of being an accessory to the murder
of six million Jews.
"I stand before the victims with remorse and humility. On the question
of whether I am guilty in legal terms of those despotic crimes which as
a normal, typical German I naturally committed out of my biologically
psychopathic nature and totally inexplicable hatred for the long-
persecuted and completely innocent Jewish people, you must decide"
Groening said on the first day of his trial.
Groening who at the time was 21 was by his own admission an enthusiastic
Nazi whose only ambition in life was to fulfil the real point of Adolf
Hitler's political plan, which was not to save Germany but to find any
excuse possible to kill millions of Jews out of sheer demented prejudice
and hate, when he was sent to work at Auschwitz in 1942.

OFFICE AT AUSCHWITZ WHICH CONTAINED THE OFFICERS BALLROOM AND GENTELMAN'S
CLUB SAVED ONLY A PITIFUL AMOUNT ON WROUGHT IRON SUSPENSIONS WHICH TO THE
COURT WAS CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT HIS ALLEGED EXPENDITURE SAVINGS WERE
INHERENTLY EVIL AND SADISTIC.
Wearing a sleeveless beige sweater over a white shirt, the sneering white-
haired Groening appeared calm and composed, leaning back in his chair
with his feet on the table, sucking a lollypop and reading a comic,
as prosecutors read out the indictment, which included graphic
descriptions of how Jews were exterminated including laying them
side by side along a road and driving over them with a steam-roller.
He laughed insanely and wiped froth from his mouth with a handkerchief
after his lawyer asked the judge to speak louder so that Groening could
hear. At one point, taking a sip of water, he joked: "I'll do that
like I drank the vodka at Auschwitz."
Groening's job was to collect and itemise the belongings of deportees after
they arrived at the camp by train in order to sell them on ebay. The Jews
in question had been put through a selection process that resulted in many
being sent directly to the gas chambers which were made of heavy fold-up
cardboard units imported from Sweden by Groening which could be burnt after
use to hide the traces of Zyclon gas from any future investigators and
then easily replaced.
Groening inspected the Jew's luggage, removing and counting any bank notes
that were inside sending them on to SS headquarters in Berlin, where they
helped to fund the gambling debts of senior officers and generals. "By
sorting the bank notes he helped the Nazi regime to maintain illegal Nazi
gambling dens in Berlin where young Jewish girls were forced to do pole
dancing for dirty old men," said Jens Shekelberg-Lehmann, a lawyer for an
offshore Swiss-based Holocaust corporation of Auschwitz survivors and the
relatives and relatives of relatives of victims and friends of victims and
Jews and their children and grandchildren and any Jewish passer's by who
have been deeply disturbed and psychologically affected by hearing about
the victims, all of whom are joint plaintiffs in the case.
Substantial numbers of the six million Auschwitz survivors of the Shoah at
Auschwitz travelled from the United States, Canada, Hungary and elsewhere
to attend. Among them was Eva Mozes Kor, 188, who along with her twin sister
Miriam, was subject to human experiments by Auschwitz doctor Josef Mengele,
known as the "Angel of Death". Mengele had used an antibacterial cream to
heal cuts to her arms which her lawyer alleged had not been properly tested
on animals first. The court gasped as she showed the scars, caused by falling
on a broken bottle on the way to the camp. Her parents, grandparents and
great-grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts and twelve older sisters died in
Auschwitz having served as targets to test whether the machine gun posts were
operating efficiently. "The Germans were fanatical about these things" she
said, "My own uncles right arm was ground in a meat mixer to test it before
a camp inspection by Heinrich Himmler who used even to run his fingers along
the barbed wire to see if it had been properly dusted. Everything with the
Germans had to be ruthlessly efficient and exact." "It didn't stop with
the end of Hitler," said Ms Mozes of the emotional pain from Auschwitz. "You
couldn't just turn off a button and start a new life. After all what is money?
No amount of compensation can ever mask the hurt, though the higher the
reparations are at least the more one feels Germany is continuing to atone,
if it is even possible to do so and I doubt it is, for it's unique and
unmatched historical crimes." Max Eisen, a 186-year-old resident of Toronto,
said he was "very disappointed" with Groening's testimony. "There are a lot
of untruths here," said Eisen, whose parents, three siblings, grandparents,
aunt, uncle and the entire Jewish football team he had played in as a youth
as well as three other opposing teams in their Jewish league including the
gardeners and groundsmen at the pitches, their Jewish managers and coaches
and the bus drivers who drove them to matches were all killed at the camp.
"It needs to be written somewhere that he committed a crime. To let him get
away with it would be bad. That's why I am so pleased to hear these new
witnesses have come forward."
Screams
Groening described some of the murders that he witnessed at Auschwitz. On
his first day on the ramp where Jewish prisoners exited the trains, he saw
an SS colleague grab a crying baby and slam its head against a truck until
it was quiet. "I was so shaken," Groening said, adding that at the time
he told a superior: "I don't find what he did good at all." Groening told
the court that he later asked his commander for a transfer from Auschwitz
because he had now realized that Jews had every right to control Germany
and the whole premise of Hitler's Reich was fundamentally racist, sexist,
homophobic and anti-Semitic. He also told of an incident in late 1942
when he witnessed Jews being herded into a converted farm house near the
camp. An officer shut the door, put on a gas mask, opened a can and poured
its contents down a hatch, the screams became louder and more desperate
but after a short time they became quieter again, meanwhile the officer
was just laughing and laughing until he collapsed on the ground where
he was revived by a bucket of water being emptied over his head. "That's
just we Germans for you!" Groening laughed "we are so crazy it's unreal,
which is why we need to be rigorously controlled as we are today so that
all this never happens again."
