The ICC warrants over Gaza are a warning for the U.S. [government], too

"...The International Criminal Court (ICC) has unveiled arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant for alleged crimes during Israel’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip, charging the two men with enforcing starvation and killing innocent people during "a widespread and systematic attack against the civilian population of Gaza".

On Thursday, the court also issued a warrant for alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes for Mohammed Deif, a commander of Hamas, the Gaza-based Palestinian militant group. (Israel claims to have killed Deif, but Hamas has not confirmed his death as it has for its other leaders).

A White House spokesperson condemned the ICC for targeting the Israelis without commenting on the court's decision regarding Deif, whom the Biden administration placed under sanctions in September. Accusing the court of "troubling process errors" and overstepping its jurisdiction, the spokesperson said the administration is preparing "next steps". Israel also rejected the charges and blasted the ICC.

But Thursday's move made clear that regardless of Washington’s actions, the global conversation around the Gaza war is headed in a direction that will increase pressure on the U.S. and Israel, which heavily relies on American diplomatic and military support..."

Shooting near Israeli embassy in Jordan leaves gunman dead, 3 police injured

"...A man has been shot dead after opening fire on security forces near the Israeli embassy amid rising anti-Zionist sentiments in Jordan.

A security source and state media said a gunman fired at a police patrol in the Rabiah neighborhood near the Israeli embassy in Amman on Sunday.

Police had earlier cordoned off the area near the heavily fortified embassy after shots were heard, ordering residents to stay in their homes as security forces searched for the shooter(s), the security source was quoted as saying by media..."

Gallant set to travel to the US for the first time since ICC arrest warrant: Report

"...Israeli Army Radio reports that the former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will travel to the United States less than a week after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued warrants against him, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif.

The court had found that there were reasonable grounds that the Israeli siege of Gaza “created conditions of life calculated to bring about the destruction of part of the civilian population”.

The ICC pre-trial judges who issued the warrants said Netanyahu and Gallant faced charges of using starvation as a method of warfare as well as crimes against humanity of murder, persecution and other inhumane acts.

Leader: Arrest warrant not enough, Netanyahu must be executed

"...Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called for a death sentence for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose arrest warrant has been issued by the ICC amid the regime’s genocide in Gaza and carnage in Lebanon.

"The (ICC) arrest warrant is not enough, Netanyahu's death sentence must be ordered", Ayatollah Khamenei said during a meeting with members of the Iranian Basij volunteer force on Monday, on the occasion of Basij Week.

Netanyahu approves ceasefire deal with Lebanon 'in principle': CNN

"...Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly approved a ceasefire with Lebanon "in principle" following security consultations held with Israeli officials late Sunday, an informed source told CNN.

Regardless, the source stated that "Israel" still had its reservations regarding certain details of the ceasefire, which are expected to be relayed to the Lebanese government on Monday. Negotiations to resolve all disputed issues are also expected before moving forward with an agreement.

Moreover, the agreement hinges on the Israeli cabinet's approval, which has not yet materialized.

Sources familiar with the negotiations have expressed optimism regarding the ceasefire, but remained wary as crossfire was still active, which risks ruining the chances for a truce.

Israel media: Hezbollah has inflicted considerable damage on Israeli infrastructure

Israeli media say Hezbollah has inflicted considerable damage on settlements, military bases and infrastructure in the northern part of the occupied territories since October 2023.

According to property tax data obtained by Hebrew outlets, "a disturbing partial image emerges that indicates destruction and damage to approximately 9,000 buildings and over 7,000 vehicles that were damaged mainly by Hezbollah fire".

"In the conflict line settlements, there is almost no building that does not require renovation - or demolition and rebuilding", reported the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth on Tuesday.

The northern settlements and cities of Kiryat Shmona, Manara, Shtula, Zarit, Nahariya, and Shlomi have sustained the highest level of damage. The report says the real scale of destruction has been "shrouded in a heavy fog".

In Kiryat Shmona, the losses are "unimaginable". Mayor Avichai Stern has said every settler unit needs renovation, which will take months..."
