Black, Latino Seniors in Virginia Get COVID-19 Vaccine Priority as White 85-Year-Olds Wait

Image

In a move that is outraging senior citizens throughout Virginia, the state is shifting its COVID-19 vaccination distribution to prioritize black and Latino residents even as desperate 85-year-olds interviewed by Judicial Watch struggle to get the shot. Like several other states, Virginia is vaccinating its population in phases, with healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities receiving utmost priority. With that population completed, according to the Virginia Department of Health, the second group includes a peculiar combination of frontline workers, people 65 and over, those with medical conditions, incarcerated criminals and those living in homeless shelters or “migrant labor camps.”

As if it were not bad enough that law-abiding seniors are considered as important to Virginia officials as convicts and illegal immigrants, now comes another slap in the face. In the next few weeks, the state will give preference to black and Latino residents 65 and over while much older white seniors, many in their 80s, cannot secure an appointment to get inoculated. The plan was announced a few days ago by Dr. Danny Avula, who was appointed by Governor Ralph Northam this year to be the state’s vaccine coordinator. A Richmond news report calls it the latest step taken by Virginia to bake equity into its vaccination policies. In recent weeks, the article says, roughly 10,000 vaccines were channeled specifically toward trusted clinics in neighborhoods with older black residents.

The news article cites statistics from a COVID-19 tracking project operated by a liberal monthly magazine. Black Virginians are dying from COVID-19 at 1.2 times the rate of white residents when adjusted for population, according to the project’s figures. Latinos are being infected at more than double the rate of whites. In October, the rate was five times higher than whites. Yet national data has revealed vast disparities between where the virus has devastated communities and where shots are given, the story claims, adding that in Virginia white residents are getting vaccinations at 2.2 times the rate of black residents. “Factors include a history of discriminatory lending practices that pushed these populations into areas with less access to health care, limited internet and a lack of transportation,” the article states. “All of that is on top of navigating a fractured health care system that’s in many ways shut them out.”

The piece makes quite a case for giving minorities preference to get the shot by selectively including stats supporting the argument. For example, the reporter cites “some experts” that have raised concern over age-based vaccine prioritization because it fails to account for lower expectancies among black and Latino communities, though it does concede that 75% of Virginia’s deaths are among those over 70. The story also refers to a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) study that says blacks lost about three years in life expectancy in 2020 while Latinos lost two and whites only eight months. In the state capital of Richmond, most COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are among black and Latino people with life expectancies ranging from 63 to 69 years old. More affluent and white neighborhoods have an average life expectancy between 77 and 83 years old, according to an academic study presented in the story.

A computer-savvy, 85-year-old Virginia man who has tried in vain for weeks to get vaccinated told Judicial Watch the new state order giving minorities preference is “particularly disturbing.” The man and his wife, also in her 80s, do not want to be identified because they are still trying to get the vaccine and fear criticizing the system might hurt their chances. In January the couple, residents of a suburb about 65 miles south of Richmond, signed up on the state website but lost their place after being told that the site was compromised. They have since tried signing up repeatedly with no luck. Many of their elderly friends are in the same discouraging situation, the couple said. “The governor has decided who gets the vaccine based on race/ethnicity,” said another elderly Virginian who cannot get the shot after learning about the new distribution plan in a local media report. “The governor is a disgrace,” said a Virginia native in her mid-80s.

Student Senator at American University Dubs White Students an 'Invasive Species' On Campus

Brittany M. Hughes , @RealBrittHughes
February. 24. 2021

A student government member at American University declared white students are an “invasive species” that reflect “settler colonialism” whenever they come back to their D.C. campus and “displace” the city’s otherwise heavily black population.

And not only was freshman Kayla Kelly, an AU student government senator, permitted to openly spew this vile, racism garbage, she was allowed to publish it in an op-ed in the school’s student newspaper.

“The large influx of predominantly affluent white students into D.C.’s ‘chocolate city,’ a term that refers to its large population of Black citizens, could evoke similar effects of settler colonialism and negatively impact the community,” freshman Kayla Kelly wrote in The Eagle, referring to white students coming back to campus as the school opens back up for in-person learning after nearly a year of going virtual due to the COVID pandemic. So far, the school has invited roughly 1,250 students back to campus.

And according to Kelly, that includes the “invasive species” also known as white people.

Related: Coca-Cola Defends Telling Employees to 'Be Less White,' Says the Program 'Builds an Inclusive Workplace'

“Settler colonialism is a form of colonialism that replaces the original population with a new invasive species. The settler system takes over the space, resources and culture of the environment it encompasses, displacing the original population,” she said.

Kelly complains white students will begin patronizing area stores and malls, essentially taking resources from the city’s black residents who live there year-round, and that white students will bring new COVID cases and further spread the disease among the local population.

"The coronavirus pandemic is just as much an issue of racial justice as it is of public health, and it seems hypocritical of students and the administration to advocate for Black lives yet place them further at risk with this initiative," Kelly writes, adding, "A number of students are likely not planning to give back to the communities that they reside in and will buy out stock at stores and malls, making the resources in those communities limited. The rash behavior stems from growing tired of living at home and acting out in rebellion due to this newfound freedom."

Of course, one doesn't need to wonder how it would have been received had a white student complained about the return of black students - or students of any other race - and dubbed them an "invasive species" that detrimentally impacted the locals.

Which, of course, would have been abjectly racist and vile. Just like this.

Equity is simply code for "discrimination against Whites. That the Virginia government is doing this should get their White citizens up in arms and active in wresting control of governance over Whites back into our own hands.

Report: College Suspends Student for Innocuous Comment on Genders

By Christine Favocci
Published February 26, 2021 at 5:28pm

Sin darkens the intellect, so maybe that’s why the atheistic left is susceptible to believing the fantasy that men and women can change their gender.

Either that, or it’s some yet-to-be-understood phenomenon that is currently throttling the U.S. toward its own demise as basic biology is jettisoned in favor of the pseudoscientific radical gender theory.

If that sounds hyperbolic, consider that a student in the education program at State University of New York Geneseo has been suspended for pointing out the irrefutable and self-evident fact that “a man is a man, a woman is a woman,” the Daily Wire reported.

“A man is a man, a woman is a woman. A man is not a woman and a woman is not a man,” Owen Stevens bravely proclaimed in an Instagram video posted last November that was brought to the university’s attention by fellow students.

“If I’m a man and I think I’m a woman, I’m still a man. If I’m a woman who thinks I’m a man, I’m still a woman,” he continued.

“Regardless of what you feel on the inside, it’s irrelevant to your biological status.”

“It doesn’t change the biology. The biology is very clear. It’s very, very, very clear. And it’s binary and easy,” Stevens said.

What should be indisputably considered a mainstream position, supported by science and understood since the beginning of human history, has become a punishable offense.

In an email to Stevens, the university said he would be removed from his education major’s field study programs because his views “call into question” whether he’s able to “maintain a classroom environment protecting the mental and emotional well-being of all of [his] students,” the Daily Wire reported.

The suspension report provided to the outlet revealed that Stevens would be barred from opportunities in the education department until he satisfied a “remediation plan” that included taking the videos down, backing away from social media and participating in what Stevens called a “re-education” program.

The dean of the School of Education admonished Stevens in an email that he didn’t “consistently demonstrate behaviors required by the Conceptual Framework of the School of Education.”

"You continue to maintain, ‘I do not recognize the gender that they claim to be if they are not biologically that gender,'” the email continued.

“This public position is in conflict with the Dignity for All Students Act requiring teachers to maintain a classroom environment protecting the mental and emotional well-being of all students.”

The university president sent an email to all students and staff about the situation, which may have encouraged retribution against Stevens.

“Yesterday, I was made aware of a current student’s Instagram posts pertaining to transgender people,” the president wrote.

“I want to take this opportunity to publicly restate my deep personal commitment to promoting social justice.”

“There are clear legal limitations to what a public university can do in response to objectionable speech,” the president added, lamenting there were “few tools at our disposal to reduce the pain that such speech may cause.”

Stevens said he’s “received threats and horrible incidents of students who all feel like they are making the world a better place by becoming the woke thought police.”

“Overall, I want justice and the right thing to be done,” he said.

A university spokeswoman told the Daily Wire that “SUNY Geneseo respects every student’s right to freedom of speech and expression,” but that “choosing to enter into certain professional fields, students agree to abide by the professional standards of their chosen field.”

The spokeswoman added that sometimes “professional standards dictate that students act and behave in certain ways that may differ from their personal predilections.”

But this is more than a “personal predilection” or some sort of affront to the dignity of the students Stevens may someday teach — believing that men are men and women are women is a fact of nature that, until very recently, wasn’t in dispute.

Rational people are grappling with the fact that roughly half of the country is now buying into this convoluted, destructive concept that gender is somehow fluid or changeable at will.

Unfortunately, it isn’t just that people believe these crackpot notions, but that those in power are trying to force society to accept and perpetuate the lie — and that there will be no daring to dissent without facing consequences as Stevens did.

The fact that the university is doing this to a young man who is training to be an educator is especially alarming given the overall reach others in the program — who will either believe the gender theory lie or at least shut up about it — will go out into the world and spread the errors to young, impressionable minds.

Insanity is one way to explain the sudden, pervasive subversion of basic truths of life, but it’s more sinister than that.

Radical gender theory is diabolical because it strikes at the very heart of humanity, ignores the complementary relationship between the sexes written in our biology by the Creator and forces a lie on society.

This error has already taken hold in so many corners of society — and institutions like SUNY are doing their best to make sure the madness spreads to the next generation.

North Carolina School District: Ignore White Parents Because Their Children Are ‘Benefiting From The System’

By Chrissy Clark

Mar 19, 2021 DailyWire.com

Image

North Carolina’s largest school district is encouraging teachers to ignore white parent’s concerns about “critical race theory” curriculum because “white parent’s children are benefiting from the system.”

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), which serves the greater Raleigh area, held an equity training that taught teachers and staff how to include “critical race theory” — the theory that America is irredeemably rooted in racism — into the classroom.

According to training materials obtained by reporter A.P. Dillon, the WCPSS equity training conference began with a “land acknowledgment.” This forces teachers to recognize that they are working and teaching on stolen Native American land.

At one point in the training, the district insinuated that white parents are a barrier to social justice because their children benefit from the system.

“What do we do with parents push back? White parent’s children are benefitting from the system,” the training reads. “They are perceiving that they are going to lose something. Fear of loss. Hard to let go of power/privilege.”

Another part of the training tells teachers to not let parents “deter” them from teaching social justice issues.

“You can’t let parents deter you from the work – mission statement (preparing students for the real world) – some students learn within school about the real world due to not learning at home about diversity (LGBTQ, race, etc.).”

The equity training provided breakout sessions for employees to learn about topics such as “whiteness” in educational spaces, affinity groups, the “prison pipeline,” and “microaggressions” in the workspace. One seminar was called “racial mapping of Raleigh.”

Schools across the nation tend to hide that they are teaching critical race theory to children for fear of retribution — WCPSS did no such thing. The training passed out a graphic that explicitly explained how critical race theory can be applied in the school setting.

The handout read:

Applying [Critical Race Theory] In The Classroom:

Authentic caring – Holding high expectations as well as providing a high level of care, concern, and support to all students in need.

Reframing Responsibility – Relentless focus on adults not children as the target for change with the indicators in the student outcomes.

Institutional Nurturing – Individuals caring is not enough. The institution must function in a race-responsive way toward equity.

Culturally Responsive – Adjusting teaching to responding to the cultural needs and learning styles of each student.

Another handout identified characteristics that are considered “dominant white cultural values and habits.” Examples included being transactional, showing emotional restraint, being efficient, self-sufficiency, being competitive, and having winners and losers.

According to City Journal, WCPSS’ Office of Equity Affairs has a $1 million budget. The school uses this budget to host trainings as well as invest in curriculum development.

The district emphasized five “essential learning” elements which include having “courageous conversations” about race, becoming “color-conscious” instead of race-neutral, developing identities for all affinity groups, promoting a “culturally relevant pedagogy,” and examining power and privilege.

California Mayor Announces $500-per-Month 'Guaranteed Income' Program, Struggling White Families Not Allowed to Participate

By C. Douglas Golden
Published March 25, 2021 at 2:18pm

It’s perhaps the most California thing ever.

In Oakland, the city is trying out a $500 “guaranteed income” program. Oakland Resilient Families, which is raising money through private donors, currently has $6.75 million in its coffers, and it’s going to give it all away to struggling families.

If you’re a struggling family in the Bay Area city, you can get paid each month with no strings attached on how you spend it.

There is one very big string attached to who gets it, though: You can’t be white.

According to The Associated Press, the program, which was announced Tuesday by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, will give money only to “low-income families of color.”

“We have designed this demonstration project to add to the body of evidence, and to begin this relentless campaign to adopt a guaranteed income federally,” Schaaf said.

On the program’s website, Oakland Resilient Families says that it aims to “[a]dvance strategies to eliminate racial disparities in economic stability, mobility, and assets through a guaranteed income” and to “[h]elp participating families move from crisis to resilience to thriving in the wake of COVID-19.”

That’s all well and good, until you see that the privately run program is supposed to “change the narrative” too.

“Through storytelling and data, uplift the truth that poverty is a systems failure — not a personal failure,” the website reads.

Schaaf echoed that sentiment in a statement on the city’s website, saying, “The poverty we all witness today is not a personal failure, it is a systems failure.”

“Guaranteed income is one of the most promising tools for systems change, racial equity, and economic mobility we’ve seen in decades,” she said. “I’m proud to work with such committed local partners to build a new system that can help undo centuries of economic and racial injustice, and point us all toward a more just society.”

As reported by the AP, “Half the spots are reserved for people who earn below 138% of the federal poverty level, or about $30,000 per year for a family of three. Participants will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.

“Everyone in the program must have a child under 18 make less than 50 percent of the median income for the area, which comes out to $59,000 for a family of three. Oh, and not be white.

“Oakland’s project is significant because it is one of the largest efforts in the U.S. so far, targeting up to 600 families. And it is the first program to limit participation strictly to Black, Indigenous and people of color communities.”

There are two reasons for excluding whites, one semi-reasonable and one thoroughly outré.

The first reason, ostensibly not wholly illogical, is that white households in Oakland make roughly three times as much as the average black household, according to data from the Oakland Equity Index. It’s worth noting that doesn’t mean there aren’t white families in poverty — it’s just that the data tends to reinforce the archetype of wealthy white Bay Area types.

The second reason, significantly more inane, is that the Black Panther Party was started in Oakland and one of the tenets of the movement was a basic income supplied by the government.

“Guaranteed income has been a goal of the Black Panther platform since its founding,” said Jesús Gerena, according to the AP. He’s the CEO of the Family Independence Initiative, which is partnering with Oakland.

“Direct investment in the community in response to systemic injustices isn’t new.”

The Panthers did invest in the community in Oakland. It was also something of an open secret some of the money to pay for the Black Panthers’ community initiatives, such as their much-touted free school breakfast program, likely came from shakedown operations of unfavored businesses in the city.

“One liquor store owner fought a Panther picket line rather than make donations, and bar owners told of being required to pay tribute,” The New York Times reported in 1979.

In a 1987 Mother Jones article, staff from 1960s-era Bay Area radical magazine Ramparts said they would jokingly refer to the Panthers’ Oakland shakedown operations as the “People’s Tax.”

One hopes this isn’t what the new program is a nod to. Even if you want to romanticize and venerate the Black Panthers, hiding behind a radical movement from a half-century ago as an explanation for why your city’s thoroughly racist guaranteed income program is actually anti-racist is pretty rich.

Oakland’s initiative isn’t the first guaranteed income pilot program, of course. The AP notes that ideas for basic income began in the 18th century and saw other pilot programs launched under the Nixon administration.

In 2019, Stockton, California launched a smaller guaranteed income program.

Andrew Yang, one of the more tolerable Democrats in the 2020 field, is also a major proponent of guaranteed income and currently leads in polling for the New York mayoral race, so you could see this program in America’s largest city.

However, Oakland’s initiative is one of the largest test programs of guaranteed income in the United States.

It’s also a racist mess parading under the banner of woke equity-making.

Welcome to California.

Boston Hospital To Offer 'Preferential Care Based on Race' as 'Redress' For 'Systemic Inequities'

Brittany M. Hughes , @RealBrittHughes
April. 9. 2021

Two leading physicians in two of the most prominent U.S. cities are pushing for hospitals to begin handing out “preferential care based on race” as “reparations” for what they believe are racial inequities in America’s health care system, adding that one hospital is already taking those steps.

In a piece entitled “An Antiracist Agenda in Medicine” published in the Boston Review, Bram Wispelwey, an associate physician in the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Michelle Morse, deputy commissioner for the Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness and Chief Medical Officer at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, suggest that the COVID pandemic has exposed the disproportionate rate of poor health on minority communities, a problem they claim is largely due to the U.S. health care system failing to provide preventive medicine to people of color.

To fix that problem, the two physicians suggest that hospitals, including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, implement a “proactively antiracist agenda for medicine” that includes “preferential care based on race” - even if that means inviting lawsuits on themselves.

And according to them, Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston has already taken steps to put such measures into place.

“Sensitive to these injustices, we have taken redress in our particular initiative to mean providing precisely what was denied for at least a decade: a preferential admission option for Black and Latinx heart failure patients to our specialty cardiology service,” the pair opine. “The Healing ARC will include a flag in our electronic medical record and admissions system suggesting that providers admit Black and Latinx heart failure patients to cardiology, rather than rely on provider discretion or patient self-advocacy to determine whether they should go to cardiology or general medicine.”

Rather than simply push for all patients to be treated the same regardless of their skin color, Wispelwey and Morse claim there are “limitations of colorblind solutions” that must be made up for my intentionally prioritizing people of color ahead of white patients to try and balance the scales.

“Building on calls for reparations, we call this a vision for medical restitution,” the duo claims.

Part of this “restitution,” according to the physicians, could include providing free care to patients of color that white patients would have to pay for themselves, and financially penalizing hospitals that don’t admit minority patients on the basis of skin color.

“Redress could take multiple forms, from cash transfers and discounted or free care to taxes on nonprofit hospitals that exclude patients of color and race-explicit protocol changes (such as preferentially admitting patients historically denied access to certain forms of medical care),” the authors write.

If that weren’t bad enough, the pair purports that the Biden administration would support this kind of race-based health care system and provide hospitals and doctors that intentionally discriminate against white patients with protection from lawsuits.

“Offering preferential care based on race or ethnicity may elicit legal challenges from our system of colorblind law,” Wispelwey and Morse write. “But given the ample current evidence that our health, judicial, and other systems already unfairly preference people who are white, we believe…that our approach is corrective and therefore mandated. We encourage other institutions to proceed confidently on behalf of equity and racial justice, with backing provided by recent White House executive orders.”

"Offering preferential care based on race or ethnicity may elicit legal challenges from our system of colorblind law,”

It may elicit legal challenges, but what lawyer (moistened finger in the air to determine the prevailing political winds) will take on this sort of case knowing he/she will be hammered by others in the field of law and especially the Jewed media?

The part about "our system of colorblind law" was laughable, it's very anti-White. Will's recently published book "Pocahontas Show Trial" lays out examples of this attitude well.
