A Handfasting Covenant

My dear lady
do hear me now,
I'll never forsake thee
in sincerity I do vow.

I will cherish thee forever
till death do we part,
a love I do offer
a gift from the heart.

In purity and honor
I shall stand by your side,
like our hands tied together
shall this marriage abide.

And before this earthen altar
with a canopy of stars above,
our souls shall no longer be two
but become one in true love.

Then together we’ll be thankful
for that which is in store,
a Celtic marriage ordained
to live forevermore.

A Place Of Dreams, A Time For Love

A Place Of Dreams, A Time For Love

As evening comes
I close my eyes
then I drift away
to another place and time.

A place of dreams
a time for love
it’s where I’ll find you
and where you’re only mine.

Chorus:
A place of dreams
a time for love
a chance to meet
my only beloved.
To have and to hold
for my heart to you
is forever sold;
can you feel how pure this love is tonight?

On miles of clouds
we walk the sky
your hand in mine
as we bathe in the moonlight.

Two hearts in love
our bodies touch
the heavens shake
a new star is born tonight.

(Chorus)

As dawn arrives
I kiss my love
and vow again
I shall return once more.

To this place of dreams
a time for love
where hope never dies
upon eternal wings it forever soars.

(Chorus)

Thank you, poets. :)

Yes, Ray, Richart's "Celtic vows" could just as well be Cosmotheist vows.

A Pledge Of Devotion

Post by Richart » Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:15 pm

A Pledge Of Devotion

When your heart is hurting
and you're all alone,
know that I’m always near
to your soul I am sewn.

When the rain starts falling
and the storm is on the rise,
I'll be there beside you
wiping your teary eyes.

When the pain of all your sorrows
begin to weigh you down,
with arms like wings I will reach out
and lift you off your troubled ground.

We all have valleys of despair
rivers that overflow,
but it’s through the trying tempest
our strength begins to grow.

But know that I am forever here
who will always be by your side,
I’ll take your hand so gently
through your darkness I will guide.

And be a lantern for your steps
a light along the road,
until you reach your destined shore
I will always be here to share your load.

A Soldiers Deployment

Post by Richart » Fri Dec 11, 2020 9:54 pm

A Soldiers Deployment

Here on the base
I sit and talk to you,
tapping each key softly
while my tears begin anew.

Separated by distance
my love for you still grows,
away on deployment
the tears begin to flow.

Chorus:
I want you to know
you’re right here in my heart,
no ocean, mountain or sky
will ever keep us apart.
There’s no need to worry
I’m coming home at last;
our time of separation
will soon be in the past.

I gently place my fingers
pressed up against the screen,
wishing you were here with me
it's not the same it seems.

I need to feel your warmthness
your arms around me tight,
not the glow from my screen
a lonely cold blue light.

(Chorus)

The evening falls upon us
for we must say goodnight,
I don't want to leave you
as my tears cloud my sight.

The screen turns to blackness
the room is very still,
my heart begins to break again
tears begin to spill.

(Chorus)

Saturnalia

Post by Richart » Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:01 pm

Saturnalia

Carols in the distance
a peaceful song in the night,
it’s a time of remembrance
let love be your guiding light.

Sitting by the fire
two hearts aglow,
drinking eggnog and snuggling
O how much I love you so.

Chorus:
Wassail and mistletoe
a Yule log burning bright,
green leaves and red berries
on this Saturnalia night.

Decorations and glitter
with candles and holly,
a laurel wreath on the door
it’s a season to be jolly.

The Winter Solstice
a living tradition for our race,
it’s a celebration of natural wonder
no mythological Christ child to embrace.

(Chorus)

Wassail and mistletoe
a Yule log burning bright,
green leaves and red berries
an Anglo-Saxon tradition tonight.

This is beautiful richart, really gets me into the winter solstice spirit. Thank you!

I am also a big fan of eggnog.. and custard. Eggnog is kind of like liquid custard I think.

Thank you Grimork. I like a lot of that stuff too especially around this time of year. But very challenging to keep my glucose levels down of course. :(
