Thousands sign petition to remove white pride billboard near KKK headquarters in Arkansas

Thousands have signed an online petition to remove a billboard about white pride in Arkansas near the headquarters of the Ku Klux Klan.

As of Friday afternoon, more than 9,200 had signed the petition, which CNN reports was launched by the Harrison Community Task Force on Race Relations, which wants its city of Harrison, Ark. to be better represented.

The billboard shows a photo of two white adults and children holding an American flag alongside a sketch of a cross with a dove and a flame. It advertises the websites WhitePrideRadio.com and AltRightTV.com.

The billboard has reportedly been in the area since 2013, but gained renewed attention when a white filmmaker recently stood in the spot with a Black Lives Matter sign and filmed the interactions he had with people in cars driving by.

The petition specifically calls on the company that owns the billboard, Pro-Signs, Inc. dba Harrison Sign Company, to remove the sign.
"The billboards have done tremendous damage to our community by giving the impression that our citizens support their messages and don’t object to their presence," the petition reads.

According to CNN, the task force is directly reaching out to the company because they don't believe they'll have much luck with the landowner, the Rob Law Firm, which is reportedly owned by the son of the national director of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

Kelsey Bardwell, an attorney for the Harrison Community Task Force on Race Relations, told NBC affiliate KARK that the sign is an entrance to the town and it's "not the message our community wants to convey."

“It’s tarnishing our town’s name and preventing businesses from wanting to invest here, preventing employees from wanting to come and work here,” Bardwell said. “We can’t control whether they want to take that sign down. We are just asking them to do the right thing.”

In a joint statement to KARK, the mayor and Chamber of Commerce president and county judge said they have "taken community efforts to denounce racism on all fronts and we are committed to doing more."

"Our race relations task force has worked to successfully remove four of the five privately-owned billboards," they said. "They continue trying to remove the last one.”

A better headline would be, "Harrison residents give BLM sign-holder and White race traitor a piece of their minds!"

The use of billboards is highly recommended as a way to encourage displays of racial consciousnesses in Whites.

IRVING PARK — Racist stickers were found attached to a sign in Horner Park Friday evening, leading Ald. Rossana Rodriguez (33rd) to ask for the public’s help in identifying who posted them.

Rodriguez (33rd) put an image of the stickers on her Facebook page. A neighbor sent it to her office.

One of the two stickers says “Straight White And Proud” while the other one says “Nationalists.”

The park is named for Henry Horner, Illinois’ first Jewish governor. Across the street from the park at 4300 N. California Ave. is the HANA Center, a nonprofit offering services to immigrants, women, youth, people of color, low-income families, older adults, LGBTQ+ people and adoptees.

“It’s a really scary thing to see this in a neighborhood that is so diverse that has so many people of color who regularly go to the park,” Rodriguez said. “This is our space and we need to reclaim it.”

Rodriguez is asking neighbors who see any racist vandalism to take a photo of it and send it to her office.

“But once it’s documented it should be destroyed,” she said.

Her office was also made aware last month of some homes in Ravenswood Manor that have Black Lives Matter signs displayed receiving racist letters.

In June, a similar incident happened in North Center when neighbors who live across the river from Horner reported having their Black Lives Matters signs stolen or defaced and racist flyers distributed in their homes.

“My office has also been getting a lot of racist propaganda and letters directed at me and a member of my staff,” she said. “Racists have become more bold since Donald Trump’s election and his racist policies. But there is no place for that in our communities and we’re not going to tolerate it.”

The Horner Park West Neighborhood, Horner Park Advisory Council and North River Commission were also made aware of the stickers.

“We’re going to be more diligent to find out who is posting this. We want to nip this in the bud and make sure this doesn’t continue because this hate mongering garbage is a stain on the whole community. Our neighborhood isn’t like that,” said John Friedmann, a member of all three groups.

Police were made aware of the stickers but had no recorded incidents this week of vandalism or property defacement at Horner Park.

A Vancouver man was shocked to discover white power stickers inside a Keremeos pub while visiting the village.

Tom Kato, 41, was staying in Keremeos with friends while on a motorcycle tour when he and five others decided to head over to the Branding Iron Bar and Grill for some food and drink. Unfortunately, the evening was ruined by two offensive stickers.

“It made everybody that I was with feel uncomfortable, and then I started to get upset and frustrated,” said Kato.

The group was first thrown-off after they saw a sticker placed on an emergency exit door with the words “It’s OK to be white” accompanied by an “OK” hand gesture.

To some, this hand gesture may seem innocuous; however, it’s anything but. In recent years the hand gesture has become widely recognized as a hate symbol used to represent white power. In 2019 the gesture was added to the Anti-Defamation League’s “Hate on Display” database.

At first, Kato and his friends were hesitant to attribute the sticker to the establishment they were in, thinking it may have been put up by someone random. This changed when they noticed a second identical sticker on a fridge behind the bar.

“That’s when we were like ‘Woah, OK, this place is no good,” Kato said.

Kato, a Japanese-Canadian, was travelling with five friends. He was the only non-white person in the group. At the time, Kato and his friends were unaware of the meaning behind the hand gesture, but the words alone were enough to make him and his friends uneasy.

Kato’s wife later informed him of the symbolism behind the hand gesture.

The group decided it would be best to quickly eat, pay and leave. On the way out, Kato snapped a photo of one of the stickers which drew some unwanted attention from an “older gentleman behind the bar” who he believes may have been the owner.

“He basically told me he’s entitled to his opinion and that he doesn’t think it’s racist,” said Kato.

Kato explained to the man that he respected his right to an opinion but also made it clear that in his opinion the stickers are very offensive.

Kato said he felt obligated to speak up if only to prevent others from having the same experience.

“I just don’t want another person or family to go in there and feel uncomfortable,” he said.

As an expecting father, Kato hopes his child will never have to feel uneasy as he did when he was at Branding Iron Bar and Grill.

“I don’t know what I want the outcome to be but I just think the stickers need to be taken down at least,” explained Kato.

The owner of the bar has since said he has no plans to remove the stickers, according to Keremeos’ mayor Manfred Bauer.

Bauer also made it very clear that the stickers and the owner’s opinions are not representative of the Village of Keremeos.

“It’s a private business and there’s nothing we can do,” said Bauer. “As far as the village is concerned, we do not tolerate any kind of racist behaviour.”

The Western News has attempted to contact the bar’s owner but has not yet received a response.

Kato thinks that now more than ever people are becoming more emboldened to speak up and call out racism. He hopes sharing his story will encourage people to continue to speak out.

“The people who should feel uncomfortable are those people who have those (racist) types of opinions,” he said.

“If you don’t say anything nothing is ever going to change… We just have to keep trying.”

Now that's a bold statement in Canada where the Thought Police will seek to jail you for any pro-White sentiments expressed.

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) has called on the FBI to investigate after racist, pro-KKK hate fliers were left at two homes of multi-racial families in Trenton.

(WXYZ) — The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) has called on the FBI to investigate after racist, pro-KKK hate flyers were left at two homes of multi-racial families in Trenton.

According to CAIR-MI, the flyers quoted bible verses that were opposed to interracial marriage and also used racist, anti-Black slurs.

The News-Herald reports that similar ones were distributed in Trenton in 2016.

"We call on federal law enforcement to join the Trenton Police in using their full resources to apprehend those who were involved in this apparent hate crime," said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. "Especially during this election year, white supremacists need to be sent a strong message from federal law enforcement and prosecutors that such ethnic intimidation will not be tolerated in our society.”

Yup, mustve been from the old testament...which most Christians only use when they can take it out of context for purposes like these. New Testament has no commandments that I remember against interracial; only about being yoked up with unbelievers via apostle Paul. Heck ol Paul said it was better not to be married at all, to better focus on worshipping God, if you could keep from sexual immorality.
Whatever, just more reason to support the National Alliance over the Christian KKK.

Having known a number of klansmen I can say they're good people and are great friends with some. For the sake of comity, we don't talk religion. The impulse I have to ask some very pointed questions starts to rise within me if we do! Every other topic is fair game, including the dysgenic effects of interracial coupling. Many klansmen can agree about that without the need for a chapter and verse reference being brought out.

nonWhites get them all the time, can't let that stop us from our goals of educating our White brethren. It is still not a crime to place fliers yet and we should do so when and any time we are able. Don't do anything stupid such as taping them to traffic signs or placing them in people's mailboxes. However there's nothing wrong with leaving fliers for people to find.

You're right, it's important to be careful. It's a waste of flier when a non-White or some race traitor gets one, but it's only a "hate crime" if they are given one with the intent to harass or annoy them. Intent must be proven by a prosecutor and so long as you're not running your mouth off or posting online that this is your purpose for distributing fliers, then intent can't be proved. Tip: distribute lots of fliers so that no one can claim they're specifically targeted if by accident some degenerate White or non-White gets one.

We in the Alliance are reaching out to healthy Whites only and it's poor resource management to waste our time and fliers on any others. When we have something to say to them, it'll be in a language they will not fail to understand-- but that time isn't now. Our focus should be on Alliance building.
