University of Montana researchers warn of ripple effects from funding cuts

"...Lab leaders, scientists and professors with the University of Montana released a letter Thursday on the potential impact cutting funds from the government will have on their research.

They say over 100 faculty and 500 staff for the University of Montana are at risk.

The National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, the Department of the Interior, the USDA, NOAA, DOE, EPA and NASA have supported research at the University of Montana. Funds from those organizations go into University research, everything from forests, wildlife, climate change, public health and more..."

"...If these cuts go through, billions of dollars worth of research funds will be gone across the nation. It's estimated 1/3 of the University of Montana's revenue comes from these sources..."

Nine people arrested at anti-Musk protest outside of NYC Tesla dealership

San Antonio Food Bank expects local hunger to rise due to tariffs, federal layoffs

"...The San Antonio Food Bank is bracing for a rush in demand as the Trump administration's one-two punch of tariffs and massive federal layoffs cut into the economic stability of local residents.

Food Bank CEO Eric Cooper said the White House's tariffs on Mexican goods will raise food prices, hurting San Antonio families' ability to afford groceries. At the same time, those price hikes will limit the ability of donors to supply the nonprofit with sustenance to aid families in need.
