‘STATE OF EMERGENCY’ VA Gov Bans Guns From Pro 2A Rally

Days before Second Amendment supporters are set to rally at the State Capitol grounds in Richmond, Virginia; Governor Ralph Northam has banned all firearms from the area.

“I am declaring a state of emergency in Richmond from Friday evening until Tuesday evening. This will include a ban on weapons of any kind in Capitol Square during that time,” Northam said during a Wednesday press conference.

“It makes no sense to ban every other weapon but allow firearms.”

Northam claims that “intelligence shows a threat of armed militia groups storming our capitol” and claims state intelligence analysts have seen rhetoric similar to Charlottesville in 2017.

“They are not coming to peacefully protest,” Northam said.

Thousands are expected to participate in a rally on Monday to voice support for the Second Amendment following a series of anti-gun measures pushed forward in recent days by Virginia’s Democratic legislative majority.

The Buggaloo has the governor bugged out. A few "accelerationists" who would like a race war kicked off sooner rather than later have been online (so some reporters say) indicating they intend to attend the planned peaceful protest. To do what other than attend, no one has said--the innuendo that violence is planned hasn't been established so far by anyone, so I doubt news reports and their smears.

All will be disarmed except for law enforcement, who, "similar to Charlottesville," will be herding the unarmed, outnumbered 2d Amendment supporters into a crowd of antifa counterprotesters. It's another trap. Stay away from this set-up.

FBI arrests 3 alleged white
supremacists ahead of gun rally

GREENBELT, Md. — A former Canadian Armed Forces reservist and two other men who authorities say are linked to a violent white supremacist group were arrested Thursday, just days before they were believed to be headed to a pro-gun rally in Virginia’s capital.

The three men, members of The Base, were taken into custody on federal felony charges in Maryland and Delaware, the Justice Department said in a news release. One of the men had discussed traveling to Ukraine to fight alongside “nationalists” and compared the white supremacist group to al-Qaeda, a prosecutor said during the defendants’ initial court hearing.

A criminal complaint charges Canadian national Patrik Jordan Mathews, 27, and Brian Mark Lemley Jr., 33, of Elkton, Maryland, with transporting a firearm and ammunition with intent to commit a felony. William Garfield Bilbrough IV, 19, of Denton, Maryland, is charged with “transporting and harboring aliens.”

The three men were believed to be planning to attend a pro-gun rally scheduled for Monday in Richmond, according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an active investigation. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Wednesday declared a state of emergency and banned all types of weapons from the gun rally, citing reports that armed militia groups were planning to attend.

The Virginia Citizens Defense League and Gunowners of America filed a lawsuit Thursday seeking an injunction specifically against the ban on firearms. A judge upheld the ban, citing U.S. Supreme Court and other court rulings that found the Second Amendment right to bear arms is not unlimited.

In encrypted chat rooms, members of The Base have discussed committing acts of violence against blacks and Jews, ways to make improvised explosive devices, their military-style training camps and their desire to create a white “ethnostate,” according to an FBI agent’s affidavit.

Mathews and Lemley were arrested in Delaware and Bilbrough was arrested in Maryland. The men briefly appeared in court Thursday afternoon in Greenbelt, Maryland. A federal magistrate judge agreed to keep all three men jailed pending detention hearings, scheduled for Wednesday.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Windom showed the judge a photograph of Bilbrough participating in a military-style training camp with other members of The Base and said Bilbrough had also talked about traveling to Ukraine to fight alongside “nationalists.”

“He has personally compared The Base favorably to al-Qaeda,” Windom said. As federal agents moved in to arrest Lemley and Matthews on Thursday, the men smashed cellphones and tried to flush the pieces down a toilet, the prosecutor said.

Mathews illegally crossed the U.S. border near Minnesota in August and Bilbrough traveled 600 miles (965 kilometers) each way in a car to pick him up and bring him to Maryland, authorities said. Mathews, who appeared in court Thursday with a bushy beard, was a combat engineer in the Canadian Army Reserve. Lemley was a “cavalry scout” in the U.S. Army, court papers show.

U.S. and Canadian authorities had been searching for Mathews after his truck was found in September near the border between the two countries. The Canadian military’s intelligence unit was investigating Mathews for “possible racist extremist activities” for several months, according to the Canadian Department of National Defence.

Authorities say Lemley and Mathews built an assault rifle using several parts, including an upper-receiver that Lemley had ordered and shipped to a Maryland home. In December, the three men gathered at an apartment that Lemley and Mathews rented in Delaware, where they discussed The Base and its activities and members, passed around the assault file and tried to make the drug DMT, a hallucinogen, according to court papers.

A few days later, Lemley and Mathews bought 150 rounds of ammunition and paper shooting targets and Lemley was spotted by an FBI agent at a gun range in Maryland. Court papers say federal agents heard the gun firing in rapid succession. Authorities say Lemley later told Mathews: “Oh oops, it looks like I accidentally made a machine gun.”

Federal agents appeared to be tracking the men’s movements and set up a stationary camera near the gun range, which captured video of Mathews shooting the gun there on Jan. 5. Court documents say Lemley had also ordered 1,500 rounds of ammunition and that he and Mathews visited the gun range as recently as Saturday.

Prosecutors say Bilbrough recently drove to Alabama to stay with another member of The Base and had also visited Lemley and Mathews in Delaware, where the men had burned a Bible and other unidentifiable items in a wooded area.

Lawyers for Lemley and Mathews declined to comment on the charges. Bilbrough’s attorney, Robert Bonsib, said he was “underwhelmed” by a prosecutor’s arguments for keeping his client detained. Bilbrough was the only one of the three men not facing a firearms-related charge.

“I think this 19-year-old man should be released,” Bonsib told reporters after the hearing. Two of Bilbrough’s relatives attended the court hearing but declined to be interviewed.

The Anti-Defamation League said members of The Base and other white supremacist groups have frequently posted online messages advocating for “accelerationism,” a fringe philosophy in which far-right extremists “have assigned to their desire to hasten the collapse of society as we know it.”

In recent months, FBI agents have arrested several members of a different far-right extremist group, the neo-Nazi Atomwaffen Division. Atomwaffen has been linked to several killings, including the 2017 shooting deaths of two men at an apartment in Tampa, Florida.

I see the authorities have their link to white nationalism. How convenient for them and right before the rally against gun restriction. Setting up the fall guy. This story reads like a vague surveillance report about some middling gun nuts that have pro-white leanings. I don't know anything about these groups the men supposedly belong to, but I can see what you mean Will, it stinks like a trap. I wonder what shenanigans will take place Monday and what new laws will be passed as a result. All on Michael King day too. The media must be salivating to draw the comparison between the two.

I'm very interested in this event happening on Monday.
A governor was elected by the liberal swamp scum that work in DC and live in the suburbs in Virginia AND the liberal Yankee retirees that relocated south to escape high taxes and extremely long, cold winters.

What he is pushing seems insane by local standards BUT is nowhere near as extreme as New Jersey's firearms' laws or even close to Cuomo's New York "SAFE" act.
Luckily for the good citizens of Virginia Northam moved too fast with his agenda.
In the other states with horrible firearm laws they (liberal politicians) nibbled away slowly, first an ID card to purchase a firearm.
Then pistol purchase permits.
Then ammunition restrictions - no hollow point "cop killer" bullets outside the home in NJ.
Then limits on time between purchases.
Then "evil gun" and magazine restrictions ( a collectible M1 carbine is an "assault weapon" in NJ).
Then no mail order ammunition purchases.
Basically put the frog in the pot of cool water with a low flame under so it doesn't know it's being slowly cooked.
Northam is sticking Virginia firearm owners into a pot of boiling water and the are attempting to jump out.

Yes, ASJG, I highlighted in the article that "our" DOJ, in the form of that U.S. Attorney, hand-in-hand with "our" Jewish watchdogs at the ADL, demonize the young White dissidents as "nationalists" in scare quotes. The nationalists these boys have been alleged to want to help, were no doubt the Russian-speaking patriots in eastern Ukraine who want to be reunited with Russia, as before, not to the American-backed, Soros-backed western part of Ukraine. See: https://nationalvanguard.org/2016/08/ru ... tionalism/ and several more relevant articles on NV.org.

The ADL and DOJ oppose all forms of nationalism except Zionism, Jewish nationalism!

We can hope that Monday, being MLK Day, that the crowd will be saturated with these "No King Over Us" National Alliance fliers: https://www.natall.com/printable/Martin ... _flier.pdf But, perhaps even more appropriate for the demonstrators supporting the Second Amendmentn, these other National Alliance tri-fold fliers will have more impact: "Why They ?Want to Disarm Us": https://www.natall.com/printable/Martin ... _flier.pdf Fliers haven't been banned yet!

There's a fairly large thread over on Stormfront over this event.
I'll post a couple/few links to some posts that caught my eye.
Another Charlottesville in the making?
An attempt to convince the urbanized American public firearm owners are dangerous?

Interesting to actually see what will shake down Monday.

I certainly understand the frustration being shown here. This is an obvious case of the Powers That Be labeling certain folks in a certain way that automatically makes them "a threat" - thus rationalizing and justifying to the public why these people's rights should be trampled upon and denied to them. The formula is "neo-nazi/white supermacist" = "threat" = "deny them their rights and persecute them". It is an old Jewish mind-trick - one that I am immune to and does not amuse me in the slightest. All that I have heretofore stated is evidenced in this lengthier and more detailed follow up article. The Awoken shall see what I mean.

Vows of Peace, Fears of Violence at Virginia Gun Rally

Image

– The top Republican in Virginia’s lower house said that any group planning to incite violence at a large gun rights rally on Monday in Richmond should stay home, while far-right leaders of militias planning to attend swore they were coming in peace.

Richmond was braced on Sunday for the rally, aimed at showing gun enthusiasts’ disdain for swift moves the newly Democrat-controlled legislature is making to pass stiffer gun laws – and many residents feared a repeat of violence seen at a white supremacist rally in nearby Charlottesville in 2017.

But several militia leaders with large followings on social media who attended that Charlottesville rally said they were coming purely to show their support for those opposed to new, more restrictive gun laws in the state.

“If you think that we’re a threat coming into your city, then you don’t know who we are, you don’t understand what we’re about,” said Joshua Shoaff, who has over 542,000 Facebook followers and goes by the pseudonym Ace Baker. “We’re not anarchists – we believe in government.”

Other leaders of well-known militias also vowed they were not seeking confrontations in Richmond. But police warned that among those they know to be attending are known neo-Nazis and other groups who may seek to hijack the gun-rights gathering.

Authorities say they are expecting several thousand people and are trying to keep the event from becoming violent.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam this week temporarily banned all weapons from the area around the Capitol ahead of the demonstration.

Todd Gilbert, the Republican leader in Virginia’s House of Delegates, said in a statement on Saturday that violence was not welcome during Monday’s rally.

“Any group that comes to Richmond to spread white supremacist garbage, or any other form of hate, violence, or civil unrest isn’t welcome here,” he said. “While we and our Democratic colleagues may have differences, we are all Virginians and we will stand united in opposition to any threats of violence or civil unrest from any quarter.”

Monday’s rally is being organized by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a pro-gun rights group that annually comes out in force to lobby Virginia’s legislature to not pass any new gun laws.

The group is working closely with police, according to law enforcement officials, in an effort to pull off a smooth event – but they have called for tens of thousands of armed citizens to come to the event, hiking tensions.

President Donald Trump backed the rally organizers in a Twitter post on Friday in which he said the U.S. Constitution was under attack by recent gun control measures in Virginia, a state that Hilary Clinton won in 2016 and where Democrats took full control of the state legislature for the first time in a generation in November.

“Your 2nd Amendment is under very serious attack in the Great Commonwealth of Virginia,” Trump wrote in the post, referring to the amendment in the Bill of Rights that gives Americans the right to keep and bear firearms. “That’s what happens when you vote for Democrats, they will take your guns away.”

The Virginia Senate late on Thursday passed bills to require background checks on all firearms sales, limit handgun purchases to one a month, and restore local governments’ right to ban weapons from public buildings and other venues.

Both Virginia legislative houses are also expected to pass “red flag” laws that would allow courts and local law enforcement to remove guns from people deemed a risk to communities, among other measures.
