There were Negroes who did this many years ago over in northern Georgia.
I do not remember if the deceased were Negroes or Caucasians. A web search
should provide the answer. As I remember, they stored the cadavers in a hen
house, where they decomposed and wildlife consumed the remains. The
family members were given urns of ashes retrieved from the fire-pits of
barbecue grills of the "funeral directors."

Woman's body stored years at Spartanburg funeral home

SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) -- The owners of a funeral home
where a woman’s body was found almost three years after her
remains were supposed to be cremated have been arrested.
(Negroes) Roderick M. Cummings and Lawrence R. Meadows are
each charged with destruction, desecration or removal of human
remains, according to jail records. The men co-own First Family
Funeral Home.
