CODE SCHOOL: TOP SECRET COMMUNICATIONS DURING WWII Codes and Ciphers: A code is a word or message that is replaced with an agreed code word or symbol. A cipher is when each letter in an alphabet is replaced with another letter, number, picture, or other symbol. Ciphers always have key that is shared among those sending and receiving the message. A coded message would be like saying, The eagle has landed! While a cipher may look like this: 8-5-12-12-15. In the cipher, each letter of the alphabet has been replaced by its corresponding number (A = 1).
Do you know the message?
Humans figured out how to send secret messages a long time ago. The Greeks used something we now call the Caesar cipher (the alphabet is shifted so each letter is replaced by a different one), while Spartans used a device called a scytale (where a message was written on a piece of paper and would be read using a special rod).
The phrase The Eagle Has Landed originated from a radio communication between the German forces during World War II. It was used to inform others that a specific operation, codenamed Eagle, had been successfully completed. Over time, the phrase has evolved to signify successful completion in general, extending beyond its original military context
It was German science that took the Americans to the moon.
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong's voice crackled from the speakers at NASA's Mission Control in Houston. He said simply: The Eagle has landed.
The phrase The Eagle Has Landed originated during the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. Astronaut Neil Armstrong transmitted this message as they landed on the moon. It symbolized the completion of a daring mission and the arrival of humans on the moon. Since then, the phrase has become an idiom used to announce the successful completion of a notable task. It is used as a popular phrase used to convey the successful completion of a mission or the accomplishment of a goal. It is often associated with significant achievements or the attainment of a desired outcome. This phrase has become widely recognized and is used to signify successful arrival, completion, or achievement in various contexts.
The eagle has found its nest, the eagle has soared to the peak, the eagle has taken flight, the eagle has touched down, the eagle has claimed its territory, the eagle has captured the sky, the eagle has reached its perch, the eagle has descended to earth, the eagle has punctured the clouds.
In the movie The Eagle Has Landed Radl receives news that the operation has failed. He realizes that Himmler had never really had Hitler's permission for the mission. In consequence, Radl is arrested and summarily executed by an SS firing squad under the pretext that he exceeded his orders to the point of treason. Back in England, Steiner succeeds in killing Churchill moments before being shot dead himself. It is then revealed that the victim was actually a body double, and that the real Churchill was on his way to the Tehran Conference. The torpedo boat is aground, at dead low tide, awaiting Steiner's return. Meanwhile Devlin, evading capture, leaves a love letter for the local girl, before slipping away.
The eagle has pierced the sky, the eagle has charted its course, the eagle has marked its landing, the eagle has found its roost, the eagle has cleared the storm, the eagle has returned to its cradle, the eagle has made its descent, the eagle has soared across the horizon, the eagle has touched the top of the mountain, the eagle has pierced the clouds,
The Eagle Has Landed is a phrase commonly used to signify the successful arrival or completion of a mission or objective. Synonyms to the Eagle Has Landed include arrival confirmed, objective achieved, the task is done, successful arrival, the goal has been reached, the job is complete, the mission is successful, the objective is attained, the target is acquired, we have reached our destination.
The eagle has kissed the sun and returned to Earth, the eagle has conquered the skies and reclaimed the ground, the eagle has surveyed the field from above, the eagle has returned from a flight through heaven’s heights, the eagle has navigated the wind and returned triumphant, the eagle has completed its odyssey and settles on familiar ground, the eagle’s journey has reached a conclusion, the eagle has come to rest, the eagle’s quest in blue infinity has reached its terminal point.
In the book Code Name Eagle after a failed escape to England across the Pyrenees, Paul Hansen is living, once again, in France. While the Germans blitz London and other major cities, Paul is getting more and more restless. Though he's part of the resistance movement, the past six months have been quiet. Then one night, like phantoms, there arrive six men from the German Brandenburg Regiment, a special force of elite soldiers. Do they have information about Paul's father, who was mysteriously shot in Antwerp? Is Paul their target now?
The Kehlsteinhaus (known in English as the Eagle's Nest) is a National Socialist constructed building erected atop the summit of the Kehlstein, a rocky outcrop that rises above Obersalzberg near the southeast German town of Berchtesgaden. It was used exclusively by members of the government and for social meetings. It was visited on 14 documented instances by Adolf Hitler.

In her song Wednesday American recording artist Tori Amos has the following lyrics:
No one's at the door
You suggest a ghost
Perhaps a phantom
So we go from year to year
With secrets we've been keeping
Though you say you're
Not a Templar man
Seems as if we're circling
For very different reasons
But even still one day
The eagle has to land
Da Vinci's earliest memory is that a Kite came down. He is grasping or groping back towards an early memory which is not clear in his mind. He thinks it happened but perhaps it did not, perhaps he only dreamed it. He said that it seemed to be his destiny to study Kites. The word destiny is also interesting in this context because it suggests what psychiatrists would term a compulsion or fixation or maybe even a regression. He is saying that some inner need which he does not comprehend impels him to study Kites, and he keeps returning again and again in later life to this strange bird particularly. Destiny conveys that this is something other than conscious volition but is rather some hidden process secretly at work.
A kite that a child flies in Italian is called an aquiline, or eagle (aquilo), not after the bird the kite as in our English language.
The big bird will take its first flight from the sea filling the universe with amazement; it will fill all the chronicles with its fame and lore and bring eternal glory to the nest where it was born.
This production will be second to none.
