They say that in the 1980s Pat Buchanan wanted to be ambassador to South Africa. Everyone else wasn’t going to play Sun City but Pat wanted to swim against the tide though of course he did not get the nod. In the end of course the last White President of the once White country of South Africa happened to be in Sweden in the year 2000 accepting some kind of faux Nobel humanitarian award for his part in bringing down White rule while his ex wife was getting raped and knifed to death in a Johannesburg town house. And (as they say) thereby hangs a tale.
