Studying Racism

It used to be that underwater basket weaving was a byword for a fake course that gave you credit, but now the University Of Maryland has a new one--a minor in anti-black racism. Though you can bet the promoters of it take it very seriously indeed, they are trying to radicalize the ghetto, and create a black elite up to date on all the trendy terms so they can lead symposia, seminars, webinars or, if they are lucky, make it on to television and whinge about "black bodies" and "equity and anti-racism"---for if the minor is anti black racism the major will be in griping and grievances, and the graduates will be summa cum laude in black bullshit.

Maryland has the Emmett Till alert system, where if someone dissents whatsoever from the theory of natural equality, or suggests in print that blacks have low IQs, then all the subscribers to the system get a ping (a whistle) and they know that White Supremacy still stalks the land. Now with their anti black racism minor Maryland will be on the cutting edge of nothing, but they will be able to instill in their students an outrageous sense of victimhood and entitlement, as well as cover the supposed horrors of chattel slavery, Jim Crow, separate lunch counters, back of the bus, White only swimming pools, redlining, the Kerner commission, police brutality, and how the black man could never catch an even break. They will not know anything which will be useful in the real world apart from perpetuating this system of unwarranted resentments, using the resentments as moral leverage to get more reckonings and hands outs and reparations, and of teaching the next generation in turn to do the same thing. It won't stop the black crime or the black epidemic of out of wedlock births, or the execrable school performance of Meshawn, but it will make them feel good about themselves and give them a sense of indignation and righteousness and the always popular out of blaming Whitey.

If you are black and want to make a nice living off of being black and whining incessantly about your victimhood you could do worse than get that minor in black anti-racism at the University of Maryland. Indeed, if blacks excel at anything other than crime, abandoning their children, and inundating the culture with lewd sexual displays and filthy bitches and ho rap, and sticking their noses in the trough for welfare and reparations, it is making fake complaints about their marginal status and how they are hunted by the police even though (as they never tire of telling us) they didn't do nothing.

"The University of Maryland will soon offer students a minor in anti-Black racism as part of an initiative to build upon the state’s legacy of racial equity and social justice and position the University of Maryland as a leading anti-Black racist institution."

That's really no legacy to brag about but I suppose it's a poor thing but their own. In fact when the dust finally settles on all this lunacy the fatal weakening of White society will be seen as the catastrophe it is. And to be a leading anti-black racism institution is to sit atop a dung heap but such is the "prestige" of these grievance programs in the niche (but powerful) circles they swim in that they will draw scads of funding; and once they get the ball rolling they will issue articles, books and position papers. Their position is a hard line one: Whitey was to blame, is to blame, and always will be to blame. Any deviance from this core tenet and the entire superstructure (to borrow a word from them) of this boondoggle will crash and burn in a torrent of flames. In fact were they to rename this program Blame It On Whitey Studies they would certainly be more honest.

"The Department of African American Studies collaborated with the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the College of Education, The School of Public Policy, and the School of Public Health are excited to introduce a new Minor in Anti-Black Racism effective Fall 2023."

It looks like it's a team effort over there, it will be cross disciplinary in the sense that ever single zealous fanatic in each and every one of these departments will have the single and unquestioned goal to exalt the black race. Being black today is the beautiful ideal of all academic slime, the gold standard and high-water mark of humanity. No more the shuffling, shucking and jiving and benign toothy grins of times past; no, now they have themselves propped up with a proper ideology, the ideology of anti-Whitism. And as they begin to churn out the graduates, and as it becomes a major it itself, it will only go to show that black may not be beautiful but it definitely is a paying concern.

"Anti-Black racism is conceptualized as policies and practices rooted in social institutions (i.e. education, health care, criminal justice system, housing) that reinforce prejudice and discrimination towards people of African descent. This minor will give students a deeper understanding of these policies, practices, beliefs, and behaviors as well as ways to work to ensure they can be inclusive leaders in line with what it means to be Terrapin Strong."

This represents one of the key moves in anti-White ideology; the redefining of racism not as personal animus (which was unfortunately getting harder and harder to find) but as a matrix of social practices which were easier to spout off about because they were so broad and pervasive that it was not necessary to identify specifically how any one individual was affected. Keep it generic and keep it vague became their watchword; but make it all encompassing; after all if some bar room bigot makes a racist statement, well, that is just one of those things which happens from time to time and can be written off as an outlier; but if it is social institutions that do it, then it's everyone and no one who is guilty, or no one and everyone; and not only the ghetto hood suffers from it but also the black lawyer or accountant; this was their breakout to the big leagues of fleecing because there was no way to disprove it; and it was so entrenched that no amount of enlightenment would ever alleviate it; White racism was the sin that would forever keep on giving.

In the many articles concerning this story we are told in anticipation that courses and symposia are still under development. It will mostly be of the Black Bodies In Danger or Kinky Hair: Problems and Perspectives variety rather than Dindu Nuffin 101 or Black Single Motherhood or Black Crime: Will It Ever End? or Black Names: Why Are They So Stupid?

"UMD’s minor, which is coming soon, is part of its larger Anti-Black racism initiative which seeks to develop projects and workshops for students and faculty to learn more about the cause. The Anti-Black Racism Initiative is designed to promote long term change in the college and on the campus and beyond, grounded in the behavioral and social sciences, our mission is to elevate the status and experience of African Americans."

What it's grounded in is gripes and grievances. Essentially the very existence of this program shows that the premise for it is false. A quick search shows that Maryland's anti black racism program is not the first and surely will not be the last. Indeed it is the next in a long succession of such programs; these are universities that not that long ago were steeped in Whiteness and now are dedicated to the well being of negros. So much for racism, eh?

"Dr. Rawshawn Ray, a professor of sociology and leader of the initiative, said the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences has used their research to highlight disparities and inform ways (the U.S.) might move toward a more racially equitable society."

Any society which has someone named Rawshawn in such a role has more equity than it needs.

"2020 was simply a tumultuous year for everyone, there was also a heightened awareness about police brutality and systemic racism, both for Black people in America, Ray said in the university’s video. One thing I know all too well is that we have been grappling with all of these things for a very long time."

The tumult had to do with those savage negros on the loose burning things down. Given the enormity of the crimes they committed the reality of that summer has been mostly buried in public consciousness; certainly no hearings have been held regarding it, what was done, and the serial fiduciary breaches in terms of the lack of response of the alleged authorities; it's as if every so often negros get a free pass to run amok for several weeks or months wreaking havoc and destruction; and then society colludes in sweeping the memory under the rug as if no one really wants to be aware that in our midst is an unparalleled savagery which is liable to break out on a massive scale at any given time.

"A response to the recent tragic killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and other African Americans—in many of these cases at the hands of law enforcement—this initiative is designed to promote long-term change in the college and on the campus, and beyond."

The sad roll call of their so-called martyrs, which is odd really, because it is normally understood that martyrs are, if not saints or holy men, at least actual victims, and not callous animals and criminals. But when it comes to the blacks in America so intense is the guilt that black is white and white black; they have been pushing this since whenever, it was back in 1968 that the word "social equity" appeared in a paper; it was back in 1970 when the infamous formula prejudice plus power equals racism first showed its ugly head; thus if not not a noble pedigree these buzzwords which seem so to jar the ear with their newness and oddity are not new at all; but the pressure was built up and when George Floyd had his hear attack the dam broke and the pent up demand in academic and media circles was finally met in a land rush.

"Grounded in the behavioral and social sciences, our mission is to elevate the status and experience of African Americans. To do so, we will engage in supporting scholarship, teaching, and dialogues of all types, and at all levels, to fight against anti-Black racism in our society—individual, structural, and cultural."

And so now they are going to study racism. What is too bad is that some level headed college (presuming the possibility) didn't go in to the advance and actually study racism. It would be a noble study and would go on to explain that it is the most natural thing in the world, to love what is one's own. At the center of the study would be the Afrikaners who would get the palm because their full throated and non compromised racism lasted longer than anyone else's. Refreshing it is to learn that not months after the the Sharpeville Massacre (when it comes to some negros getting condign punishment they love the word massacre don't they?) Prime Minister Verwoerd said that they must not lose the resolve of Apartheid, that the walls of it must remain granite. That would be worth a major or a seminar or some symposia; because more than a few of us who have gone off the beam could do worse than to sit through some courses in White Supremacy 101.

This project builds upon the state of Maryland’s legacy of racial equity and social justice through three strategic and institutional initiatives: 1) develop faculty-student cross departmental anti-Black racism focused research projects; 2) develop and execute anti-Black racism teach-in workshops for faculty, staff, students, and community members, and 3) present research findings to the wider campus and local community through an annual symposia and networking event. These three interconnected and innovative projects will amplify the new anti-Black racism (ABR) minor (beginning Fall 2023), hosted by five colleges at UMD: College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Education, School of Public Health, and School of Public Policy. The ABRI will produce multi-disciplinary and transformative scholarship that advances conversations on anti-Black racism, equip faculty to teach with an anti-Black racism lens to further diversify the academic curriculum at the University, and create a larger anti-racist ecosystem to ensure the University of Maryland is at the forefront of moving toward an anti-Black racist future.
