1950: Pro-Communist Washington official Alger Hiss is convicted of perjury for lying about his espionage for the Soviet Union. Hiss had also participated in the Yalta Conference, which turned over millions of helpless Europeans to Communist tyranny. Though not Jewish, Hiss was one of thousands of Communist infiltrators and fellow travellers honeycombed throughout the American establishment, many of them Jews. With the cooperation of the Jewish-controlled media, the early revelations of this infiltration brought forward by Joseph McCarthy and other patriots were almost completely squelched by 1960.
