TODAY IN HISTORY
1927: Gutzon Borglum, an American sculptor of Danish descent and pro-White beliefs, begins sculpting Mount Rushmore. He had already designed the Stone Mountain, Georgia commemorative half dollar issued by the US Mint (!) in 1925, and took part in sculpting the titanic Stone Mountain memorial itself.
