1690: The first multi-page newspaper in North America, Publick Occurrences Both Forreign and Domestick, is published in Boston, then a city in the Dominion of New England. It was intended to be published at least monthly by Richard Pierce and Benjamin Harris, its printer and editor respectively. However, it was promptly suppressed by the colonial government and no further issues appeared.
