TODAY IN HISTORY
1992: The Los Angeles Riots begin ostensibly because White police officers were acquitted of using excessive force when arresting convicted armed robber Rodney King, who was Black. Over the next three days rioting Blacks would kill 63 people and destroy hundreds of buildings.
