The Church's intolerance of viewpoints outside their approved dogma served as a point of strength, albeit to the detriment of our race. The strength of conformity has a value that should be noted and used very carefully. That the Church failed to be careful has led to its downfall in terms of credibility and integrity. Many now laugh at them when they bother to think of the Church at all.
