694: At the Seventeenth Council of Toledo, Egica, King of the Visigoths of Hispania, outraged at Jewish financial skulduggery; at Jews pretending to "convert"; at Jewish enslavement of Europeans; and at the Jews' conspiring with invading Muslims, orders that Jews shall forfeit all their property to the State; shall become slaves themselves, owned by their former slaves; shall be separated from their children; and shall be forbidden "to practice Jewish usages" within the Kingdom.
