Question about the site

I know that Admins names are in red, National Alliance staff members’ names are in green, my and most other usernames are in blue, but occasionally I have seen a few names in purple and some in black font.
What do the purple and black indicate for users here?
Also, I have a question about private messages: unlike my email accounts, where if I send a message and delete it afterwards, it still gets to the recipient, even if it’s still unread. The private messages that I have sent here get deleted to the recipient if I deleted them after sending them, so if they were unread when I deleted them, the recipient didn’t get to read them. This caused a bit of misunderstanding between a former penpal and myself. He originally sent me a nice friendly message, but I hadn’t been on this site for months before signing back on and reading it, and then I sent a long reply, but since he was then away for a while, I had no reply, and I cleaned out my inbox and outbox, and then the next message he sent was as if he hadn’t seen the one I’d sent him. I later asked if he’d seen my message and if I would get a reply, and he informed me that he got it, but it said that it was deleted by the sender (me).
Are there any plans on someone being able to fix this, so that the recipient can still read their messages even after the sender has deleted them?
