Heroic soldier of the Reich....a life to be envied and respected....

"I don't particularly care for Degrelle (no accounting for taste etc),
but the man wasn't a coward, he made a daring and spectacular escape.
He was a soldier, he made it to freedom, his family made it there too
and he lived a full life, can't ask for much more than that. Great story!"

a tribute...
In The French Manner
If Adolf Hitler had a son, he would've been Leon DeGrelle:
best-of-the-best in the Waffen SS, lawyer and author as well.
Born in Bouillon of French roots,
Monsieur DeGrelle was one of Germany's greatest sans doute.

In 1941 for Europe it was clearly heads or tails:
Hitler's freedom and progress or pure terror of Stalin's jails.
Oak Leaves, Ritterkreuz, Gold Cross--Leon donned them all
for valor saving Western man from festering as zion's thrall.

Founder and leader of a political party deemed Rexist;
esteemed member of the first truly Euro army to ever exist--
General DeGrelle certainly earned his stripes
joining the Waffen SS as a private, ignoring stereotypes

he waged hand-to-hand combat in the Eastern Front's commie mire
side-by-side with all of Europe's pride to ash bolshevik fire.
Cherkassy, Moscow, Tarnopol: each time Reds met their death
by a Walloon who fought pour la vie avec ancienne noblesse.
