Gen. MacArthur’s entire speech given in 1962 is indeed prophetic. It was as if he could see the handwriting on the wall.
“Duty, honor, country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. … The unbelievers will say they are but words, but a slogan, but a flamboyant phrase. Every pedant, every demagogue, every cynic, every hypocrite, every troublemaker, and I am sorry to say, some others of an entirely different character, will try to downgrade them even to the extent of mockery and ridicule.”

The US Military Academy at West Point suddenly removed the “Duty, Honor, Country” motto from its mission statement — causing critics to blast the institution for “going woke.”
The phrase, which was first added to the mission statement in 1898, is set to be replaced with the words, “Army Values,” according to a letter sent to students and supporters from the school....
