Marines told to stop using ‘sir,’ ‘ma’am’
to avoid ‘misgendering’ superiors

No more “Yes, sir!”

The US Marines may ban recruits from respectfully addressing senior members as “sir” or “ma’am” to avoid “misgendering” and offending them.

The woke recommendation was made in a new $2 million report commissioned by the Corps from the University of Pittsburgh.

The exhaustive, 738-page study that the Marines first commissioned in 2020 said traditional ways of addressing superiors were holding back gender integration.

“Employing gender-neutral identifiers eliminates the possibility of misgendering drill instructors, which can unintentionally offend or cause discord,” the study said.

“By teaching recruits to use gender-neutral identifiers for their drill instructors, Services underscore the importance of respecting authoritative figures regardless of gender.”

The two-year study by the University of Pittsburgh’s Warrior Human Performance Research Center also said that “the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard effectively de-emphasize gender in an integrated environment.”

“Instead of saying ‘ma’am’ or ‘sir,’ recruits in these Services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names,” it said.

“Gendered identifiers prime recruits to think about or visually search for a drill instructor’s gender first, before their rank or role.”....

One commenter under this Post article approved, saying that should a Marine be captured by enemy forces he/she will at least use approved pronouns.

When I heard about this new policy my first thought was that this is nothing new. Dr. Pierce wrote an article in the Alliance's Attack! tabloid in 1979 -- 43 years ago! -- addressing the lower quality of U.S. military recruits then. Presently, recruiting offices aren't meeting minimum recruiting objectives and the branches aren't retaining personnel, and it's not due only to their refusals to be jabbed by mandatory vaccinations. Some of the problem has to be lowered morale traced to these silly policies against using "sir" and "ma'am" -- a southern thing that shows respect by the user when addressing an elder or one of superior rank.

U.S. Army ROTC male cadets at Arizona State University are voicing their displeasure across the internet regarding their participation in April’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes”, complaining that they were forced to walk in high heels for the event designed to raise awareness for sexual assault against women on college campuses.

Endorsed by the U.S. Army itself, the branch encouraged cadets to volunteer their time and participate in the function and cause. For the students at ASU, however, the word “voluntary” was never part of the equation — according to some.

“Attendance is mandatory and if we miss it we get a negative counseling and a ‘does not support the battalion sharp/EO mission’ on our CDT OER for getting the branch we want. So I just spent $16 on a pair of high heels that I have to spray paint red later on only to throw them in the trash after about 300 of us embarrass the U.S. Army tomorrow,” one anonymous cadet wrote on a social media sharing website.

Another cadet’s account differed slightly from this, saying that while attendance was mandatory, the choice of footwear and dress wasn’t prescribed and that civilian attire was accepted.
This was written in 2015, the armed services haven't rid itself of this sort of bone-headed thinking in its top ranks since then. They're preparing young men and women to become cannon fodder for future wars, don't join.
