Tens of Neo-Nazi stickers have been plastered on campus near Fisher Library and the Law School.

The stickers appear to be from the National Socialist Network, a group intimately linked with the Lad’s Society and Antipodean Resistance.

This follows similar events by the group at Swinburne University and the University of Queensland within the past month, signalling an orchestrated attempt to target Australian universities.

Antipodean Resistance last postered on campus in 2017 outside the Brennan McCallum learning hub.

In 2019, racist posters were also found in the Engineering and IT precinct on campus.

In a statement to Honi, a spokesperson for the University said, “We will remove the stickers as quickly as possible. No matter the medium, racism and any other form of discrimination are not tolerated in our community, and go against our values and our codes of conduct.”
“We would encourage anyone with information to contact our security team on 1800 SYD HLP (1800 793 457).”

Last year, Honi also uncovered the presence of fascist organising on campus through leaked Discord chat logs. That investigation revealed Neo-Nazi scrutiny of the University and its student organisations as far back as 2017.

Leader of white nationalist hate group, 2 others arrested in Weatherford

The leader of an alt-right, white supremacist group was arrested in Weatherford on Saturday after police said he and two other men placed stickers on county property.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Department arrested the three men on Saturday after watching them place stickers on two different signs on the Parker County Courthouse lawn, according to the men’s arrest warrants. One of those arrested was Thomas Rousseau, the leader of the group Patriot Front, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Rousseau is identified by SPLC as the founder of the white nationalist organization, which the SPLC classifies as a hate group.

Along with 21-year-old Rousseau, the sheriff’s department arrested Cameron Pruitt, who is 21 and from Utah, and Graham Whitson, who is 29 and from Grapevine. They were charged with criminal mischief and sent to jail on a $500 bond. They were released on Sunday, according to jail records.

According to the arrest warrants, the three men were placing stickers that said “Reject Poison” and included pictures of drugs. According to the Detroit Metro Times, the stickers include a link to the group’s website and have been used by Patriot Front in other locations.

Rousseau told deputies that he was promoting the group featured on the stickers, but was not a part of it, according to the sheriff’s department.

A Twitter account that claims to be run by Rousseau tweeted about the incident on Monday, saying, “Fat pigs at @WPDTX (the Weatherford Police Department) have nothing better to do than harass patriotic Americans, how do you live with your selves?”

In a reply, the person claiming to be Rousseau said, “As for @WPDTX we’re not done with you. We’ll be back.”

Almost two weeks ago, the Parker County Courthouse was the stage of a tense standoff between protesters and counter-protesters. Protesters demanded the removal of a Confederate statue, while counter-protesters showed up to defend the statue and their town. Some counter-protesters said they thought the opposing group planned to vandalize or tear down the statue.

As the 50 to 75 protesters — mostly made up of the Fort Worth group Enough is Enough and Parker County Progressives — came face-to-face with hundreds of people on the courthouse lawn, skirmishes broke out. Two counter-protesters were arrested.

On Thursday, Parker County commissioners voted to keep the statue at the courthouse. Afterward, another protest was held near the statue on Sunday.

One of Patriot Front’s most common tactics is to distribute racist and anti-Semitic propaganda in various communities, the Anti-Defamation League reported. The group operates mostly in Texas, where most of its members live, but its distribution of hate speech has been identified in at least 12 different states.

The group reportedly seeks the creation of an all-white nation in the United States, and is strongly anti-Semitic. While Patriot Front uses patriotic imagery such as the American flag, its values center on racist and prejudice ideals, the Informant reports.

Rousseau, who attended Coppell High School, was arrested in 2018 in Fort Worth when police said he posted hate speech posters downtown. Rousseau formed Patriot Front after leading a group of people during Charlotteville’s Unite the Right Rally.

Cedar Rapids police investigating possible hate crime

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Rapids police are asking for information from the public as they investigate a possible hate crime.

Officials said they received reports from at least four different residences in southeast Cedar Rapids where resealable plastic bags were found that contained a letter with a fascist symbol and the words “White Pride” on it.

Police are trying to determine if these incidents are a hate crime under federal statutes.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department said it is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.

Mayor Brad Hart said, “Cedar Rapids is a community where everyone should feel welcome and safe, especially in his or her own home. Acts of hate are not, and will not be, tolerated. They are an affront to the values of our residents and city leadership. It is our responsibility to care about each other, and incidents that target our neighbors and their families have no place in Cedar Rapids.”

A man who placed far-right stickers across Derbyshire towns has been jailed for 12 months.

David Holmes placed the stickers, which included Hitler emojis and racist slogans, across Ilkeston, Heanor, Mapperley, in Shipley Park and on the Nutbrook Trail during 2019.

The force received a number of complaints in relation to the stickers and a joint investigation between the local safer neighbourhood team and officers from the Special Branch office in Derby – a unit that focuses on international and domestic extremism.

The 63-year-old was finally identified after a fingerprint on one of the stickers was found to match with Holmes’ print on police file.

He was arrested when officers attended his home in Ashforth Avenue, Marlpool, Heanor, and found inside a large amount of Neo-Nazi paraphernalia, as well as letters from a far-right group that praised him for his stickering of the area.

In interview Holmes admitted that it was him who placed the stickers and was released on police bail.

Whilst on bail he placed a Confederate flag and a Ku Klux Klan figurine in his window, placed homemade bottles of wine on neighbours’ doorsteps with racist messages on them and went on to threaten a neighbour who he believed had reported his behaviour to the force.

He was re-arrested and appeared at Derby Crown Court on Monday 10 August where he had previously pleaded guilty to a number of charges – including racially aggravated harassment, racially aggravated criminal damage and witness intimidation.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison and was handed a two-year restraining order to contact his neighbour and criminal behaviour order that stops him from placing stickers on any items which would be visible to others.

Graham Prince, head of Derbyshire Special Branch, said: “The actions of David Holmes last year have absolutely no place in Derbyshire and we welcome the sentence that the court has handed down.

“Our county is a diverse one that is strengthened by people of all nationalities, genders, religions and beliefs. His actions were designed to try and sow division but it is clear his views are not held by our communities.

“Holmes’ offending was investigated by both Special Branch and the local Safer Neighbourhood Team – who together were able to identify Holmes and bring him to justice.

“I hope that his sentence sends a dual message.

“Firstly, that this type of incident will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly and those responsible brought to justice by the force.

“And secondly, that anyone undertaking this type of behaviour will be found and, when they are brought before court, will be handed a serious term of imprisonment.”

“Hitler was Right” Banner Hung from Local Bridge in Arizona

Queen Creek, AZ deputies were dispatched to the area of Ellsworth Loop Road and Rittenhouse Road after several 911 callers reported seeing a banner with the words "Hitler was right" written on it.

The deputies found four men on the railroad tracks at the overpass, where one of them was taking a photo of the banner, which had been draped over a metal railing on the south side of the bridge. After the men went to remove the banner, the deputies asked the men what they were doing there. They replied that they were expressing their First Amendment rights.

The deputies explained that because they were on Union Pacific property, those rights were not protected, and explained that they were trespassing.

"It is sad, and frankly pathetic, that these misguided individuals feel the need to spread such ugly, hateful materials," said Paul Rockower, executive director of the Jewsih supremacist "Jewish Community Relations Council".

"We want to be careful not to give these publicity-seekers too much attention, but the Jewish community remains steadfast in the fight against anti-Semitism, and we will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement and in other partner-communities to fight against this sordid propaganda."

Banners hung from highway overpasses and rooftops have been used more frequently in recent years as a tool to promote National Socialist and anti-ivader messages.

"While white supremacists have been using banners for some time, the number of banners deployed in the past 10 months marks an unprecedented trend," stated a 2018 report from the Jewish supremacist "Anti-Defamation League".

The four patriotic white men were cited with criminal trespass 3rd degree railroad, said Vanegas, adding that a Union Pacific representative was notified of the trespassing incident "and indicated he would aid in prosecution."

The Sheriff’s Office also forwarded information to the Town of Queen Creek in case the banner was a zoning violation.

Rabbi says multiple people reported finding flyers of ‘white power’ in mailboxes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Multiple people opened their mailboxes to find flyers encouraging ‘white race Aryan men and women stand up’ against minority groups, according to Chabad of the Bluegrass director Rabbi Shlomo Litvin.

“The letter served a dual purpose. Ideally, the letter was supposed to recruit fellow racists and was intended to intimidate anyone who got the letter,” Litvin said.

Litvin said people from Woodford, Scott and Fayette counties reached out to him regarding the flyers headlined with ‘White Power’. The flyer makes reference to the Nazi slogan, ‘blood and soil’ and reads Jewish, Black and Mexican people ‘will not replace us.’

“It’s a sad argument from a forgotten era and they’re trying to yell the same words again and they think they’ll be intimidating,” Litvin said. “No one is trying to replace anyone. Each person is irreplaceable. Each person has a role to play in our community and our community is better for having them there.”

Litvin said a mentor taught him the best way to fight darkness is with light. So, he put his own letter in people’s mailboxes.

“Our response to letters of hate is letters of love. The idea that we’re going to be intimidated by an angry email or an angry letter is laughable,” Litvin said.

Litvin’s letter has already found its way to several mailboxes around Lexington. More will be distributed around Central Kentucky in the coming days, according to Litvin.

Supremacist Propaganda Found At Mashpee Commons

Stickers bearing the name and mantras of the white supremacist group Patriot Front were found on signs and light posts in the Mashpee Commons sometime around Saturday, August 1.

The stickers, which bore phrases like “Better Dead Than Red,” “America Is Not For Sale” and “Reclaim America,” included a link to the group’s website where a racist manifesto disavows democracy and claims the only true “Americans are descendants of Europeans.”

Sarah Chace, a spokeswoman for the Commons, said in an email on Monday, August 3, that she was not sure how many stickers were found or when they were put up.

“Our maintenance staff removes any and all stickers/graffiti daily as part of their routine rounds so I doubt they were up for long,” Ms. Chace said. “If someone sees something they should call our office or let one of our maintenance or security staff know.”

A subsequent walk through the Commons on Wednesday, August 5, revealed more than a dozen stickers from the group, most of which had been at least partially removed.

A sticker with the words “For The Nation Against The State” remained on the front of a stop sign at the intersection of Steeple Street and Greene Street from at least Saturday through Wednesday.

Another sticker on the front of a stop sign at the intersection of Market Street and Fountain Street was also visible on Wednesday, as was a sticker on the back of another stop sign at the same intersection, although a second sticker on the same sign had been partially removed.

Patriot Front is among the most active white supremacist groups in the United States and define themselves as American fascists, according to the Anti-Defamation League, an anti-hate and civil rights organization.

“There is an active and growing Patriot Front initiative in Massachusetts,” said Peggy Shukur, the ADL’s interim deputy regional director for the New England region. “They tend to do a lot of postering and leafleting.”

The ADL’s H.E.A.T Map, an online map that tracks incidents of hate, extremism, anti-Semitism and terrorism, indicates two other instances of propaganda distributed in the Town of Mashpee in the past year by Patriot Front.

According to the map, the ADL received reports of such propaganda in Mashpee on April 2 of this year and October 20, 2019.

In late March, propaganda from Patriot Front was also discovered in Woods Hole, Falmouth, North Falmouth, Pocasset, Bourne and two locations in Sandwich, according to the map.

“I don’t know if their intention is to get new members through these displays or create some sort of fear and intimidation within a community by posting these all over,” Ms. Shukur said.

She said that while graffiti is illegal, other forms of distributing propaganda are often protected by the First Amendment.

“Seeing these incidences and tracking them is really important step so that we can demonstrate that this actually happens,” Ms. Shukur said. “The more people that are emboldened to speak out in these ways, we fear the more people will be emboldened to act on these ideas.”

“If you see something, please report it, report it to law enforcement even if you think it’s not a big deal,” Ms. Shukur said.

Incidents of white supremacist propaganda or other forms of hate can also be reported to the ADL through a link on the organization’s website, she said.

Captain Thomas A. Rose of the Mashpee Police Department said that the police department had not received any calls about the white supremacist propaganda in the Commons but was aware of the vandalism and has increased patrols in the area.

He said the department was aware of “no other instances in the past few months.”

Paul Rifkin, a resident of the Commons, said that he has not seen any of the Patriot Front stickers in the Commons but “they don’t surprise me.”

“I consider white supremacy a virus which has grown and been given voice to and credence by our president,” said Mr. Rifkin, who regularly participates in demonstrations in Falmouth calling for the removal of President Donald J. Trump.

“The virus is here on Cape Cod and there is an intensification of disagreement out there which I’m afraid is going to result—I can smell it—in blood in the street,” he said.

Notably, the leader of Patriot Front, 21-year-old Thomas Ryan Rousseau, led members of Vanguard America, another white supremacist group, in the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017 before defecting from Vanguard just days later to form Patriot Front, according to the ADL.

President Trump famously stated that there were “some very fine people on both sides” of the 2017 Charlottesville rally. James Alex Fields Jr., who was identified standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Vanguard America in images of the event, was accused of killing Heather Heyer after plowing his car into a group of counter-protestors at the rally.

Mr. Rifkin said that he believes people have the right to express fascist viewpoints within the legal freedoms of the First Amendment.

“There are fascists in our midst and that has become oh so clear,” he said, but the First Amendment means, “these people have a right to be horrible.”

Of the stickers in the Commons, he said, “I think they do intimidate people and I think this is a time [that] if you’re not scared, you’re not paying attention.”

Ashley Lancaster, the owner of the pet supply store Hot Diggity in the Commons, also said she was unaware that the white supremacist stickers had been graffitied in the Commons.

“I’m absolutely disgusted but not completely surprised,” said Ms. Lancaster, who displays a sign outside her store that says, “Dogs Don’t Discriminate. Be Like Dogs! #BlackLivesMatter.”

“The ignorance, hate and anger displayed by some who have confronted us about our sign is the reason why the BLM movement needs to exist in 2020,” she said.

Free stickers with the same phrase as the sign supporting the Black Lives Matter movement will be available at her store next week “for anyone who wants to proudly display the message that Black Lives Matter,” she said.

Exposed: The anonymous Nazi activist behind the Hundred Handers network

The secretive network is headed by Sam Melia, a former activist for the now-banned Nazi group National Action.

For the past two years, the Hundred Handers network have been garnering increasing levels of media attention for their stickering campaign, which has seen an anonymous network of far-right activists plastering lampposts, walls and even primary schools with racist and divisive stickers.

The group’s stickers have appeared across the UK, as well as in Germany, Spain, Australia, the Netherlands and multiple cities in the USA. In July 2019, the Governor of New York state Andrew Cuomo ordered an investigation into the group after a small town there was bombarded with stickers. The group claims to have hundreds of activists worldwide.

A White patriot in the UK

Now HOPE not hate can reveal that the man behind this toxic group is Sam Melia, who we previously exposed for his Nazi activism when he stood as a candidate for the far-right For Britain party in the 2018 local elections. In November 2016, Melia marched with the neo-Nazi National Action group in Darlington. Later proscribed as a terrorist organisation and linked to numerous acts of violence, the National Action caused outrage in Darlington by delivering a hate-filled speeches about “driving out the parasite class” of “hook-nosed bankers” while black-clad group members threw up Nazi salutes.

Most recently Melia has been associated with Patriotic Alternative, the fascist group founded by ex-British National Party activist Mark Collett, organising the printing of banners for their day of action on Sunday 9th of August and suggesting that he might have joined them for their earlier ‘White Lives Matter’ banner drop in the Peak District.
Who are the Hundred Handers?

First appearing in May 2018, the Hundred Handers is an anonymous network that attempts to provide an avenue for direct action by far-right activists who are too scared to operate in the open and face the social consequences of their views. Melia appears to believe that he has created a truly secure network, with material distributed by the group boasting that “we are completely anonymous and our structure and rules provide protection from infiltration”.

The slogans that Melia chooses for the stickers cover a wide variety of topics. Many are dog whistles deliberately calculated to spark heated discussions over the intended meaning, such as the “White Lives Matter” and “It’s Okay To Be White” stickers, whereas others are more explicitly racist. The group also managed to stir up some controversy through their use of fake Extinction Rebellion stickers intended to smear the movement, with slogans such as “Drive a car? You’re a Nazi!” and “Save the World. Sink the Boats”.

The tactic of producing provocative stickers with a degree of plausible deniability has been somewhat successful. When two men were arrested and charged with racially aggravated public order offences for putting up stickers in Sheffield that said ‘Open Border Virus Disorder’ and ‘Pubs Closed. Borders Open’, the men were defended on Twitter by Toby Young’s Free Speech Unionorganisation, who asked “Why isn’t it legally permitted to question the lockdown, when 15,000 are still flying into the UK from China, Italy and Spain every week?”

However, anyone who had looked into the group for more than five minutes would be aware of their true extremist ideology, which can be seen in the stickers that carry slogans such as ‘Blood and Soil’ (a translation of the Nazi slogan ‘Blut und Boden’) and others that directly call for ethnic cleansing, such as ‘Make America White Again’

Despite the group’s constant boasting about its supposedly impenetrable anonymity, Sam Melia insisted on giving interviews and posting photos that revealed a wealth of personal information about himself and his family members, despite complaining in those same interviews that he’d been “doxxed [exposed] before and it wasn’t fun, I lost my job”.

Melia’s interviews were also revealing in other aspects. Melia expressed his disappointment that the “cultural conditioning” of some of his fellow travellers on the far right made them focus solely on Islamophobia and prevented them from fully embracing his own Nazi-inspired antisemitic agenda. When the interviewer asks “what will make the Saxon hate? What makes the British angry?”, Melia responded:

“It seems to be the Islam thing […] if that’s what it takes to make the Saxon hate, then yeah let’s centre it all on Islam, and then once we’ve dealt with that let’s diversify into other areas that need cleaning up. At the moment that seems to be the only thing that gets people up and moving – everything else, the programming’s too deep […] they’ll tar every Muslim with the same brush, but as soon as you go “Maybe this big-nosed fellow over here has something going” they’re like “No, we couldn’t possibly! We love Israel!”

Earlier in the same conversation, he had described the process of inducting new members into his ‘nationalist’ hiking group, again mentioning the foul views he attempts to conceal from those outside his inner circle:

“We’d normally meet at a pub, and talk, and um, start it off tame, you know – not immediately go into “gas the kikes”, or anything like that. You’d just kind of talk news and see where they were, what they knew”

Melia also revealed the sordid lengths he would go to to spread his hateful views, including his attempts to spread them to schoolchildren. When asked by the interviewer where he liked to put the stickers himself, he told her:

There’s school routes – you find these kids who’re just getting indoctrinated every day, so maybe you just put a sticker there that sparks a thought in their head”

Melia’s journey through different types of activism, from marching with the Nazi group National Action to standing for election with For Britain and now running an anonymous propaganda network and working with Patriotic Alternative, reveals his willingness to try many different paths in pursuit of his goals, but these goals remain the same: promoting extreme racial hatred and spreading his propaganda to as many people as possible.

Flyers including white supremacist language, Nazi symbol dropped off in south Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are investigating after flyers in support of white supremacy were dropped off at homes in south Austin.

The flyers included white supremacist language and a Nazi symbol. They invite people to call a phone number.

Joe Puscas, who lives in the Creek Ridge neighborhood, said he thought the flyer was directed at him due to his support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Then he realized a lot of his neighbors had received them too.

“Once it all settled down and I realized it wasn’t at me, it made me really angry that people felt like this was acceptable in our community,” he said.

A homeowner in the area captured a white truck driving by early Thursday morning, when the flyers were dropped, on their doorbell camera.

The Austin Police Department said it is aware of the flyers and is looking into them.
