The concept of a decentralized, completely anonymous currency seems like a good idea on face value. The problem is that its value is tied to its scarcity. The more coins are "mined", the harder it becomes to get them and the more a computer needs to work towards each one. While it's a good money system for machines, it doesn't translate well to the common man, whose labor and time are not synonymous with that of a machine. In order for a money system to be effective and sustainable it needs to represent the labor and time of the farm laborer just as surely as that of the doctor.
