Linux Operating System

Post by AustrianPainter » Sat May 04, 2024 8:36 am

Greetings All,

For those of you that are security minded in this ever present age of hacking and spy monitoring, I have been using Linux operating systems now for over a year and I'll have to say that they are easy to use and easy to setup. The most impressive things I can say about Linux operating systems are that they are very secure and FREE and most all the software available for them is FREE. 90% of the internet servers are Linux/UNIX based machines. Entire countries at the governmental level have chosen to only use Linux for obvious reasons. Microsoft and Apple operating systems continually report back to a database what you do on a daily basis. Linux does none of that. With minimal tech skills you can load Linux onto your laptop or desktop computer. There are great youtube videos that walk you through the process. I will provide some links below. I have found that Linux operating systems can actually be more enjoyable to use, there is of course is a learning curve to using them the deeper you dive into the more complex functions of them. Again, great youtube can help you through a majority of anything you want to do.

I personally recommend Linux UBUNTU (Distribution), however I am a fan of Linux KALI (Distribution) as well.

Unlike Microsoft operating systems Linux is not a resource hog and doesn't slow your computer down over time. I have also noticed that I never get corrupted files. All of your current existing Microsoft files can be read by Linux.
