It's a woodburning tool, I suppose it is very similar to a soldering iron?

Working on my competition throwing axe, it's going to have skulls and flowers all over it.

Re: Drawing for fun
She is my latest drawing. the image came to me when I was about ready to go to sleep. So I got up and drew her.
A warrior woman who has put up a hard fight. She is down but not out. I think this is a relatable feeling for some. Things can beat us down and pummel us so-to-speak. We take a breather and get back up and fight some more.

Isn't it lovely though?WhiteHealer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 3:17 amFF,
Your drawing of WLP looks really good. Excellent work on that....maybe there will be a place for that drawing in the new WLP memorial?

I was only able to attend three days of the four-day charcoal drawing workshop. But I finished the drawing of WLP that was done using the grid method. You can see where the grid lines were drawn on the drawing, then erased once everything is transferred.
Our instructor took a photo of me holding it. It's a pretty good likeness, but it looks like I just crawled out of bed. I have no idea why the image is attaching more than once?
It's been a year since I tested my drawing skill in that charcoal drawing class here at our local Arts Center. Those here at WB who receive our monthly BULLETIN have probably received their February issue by now. I wrote in my personal commentary:
I was only able to attend three days of the four-day workshop, and could have used the fourth day to finish. Our instructor liked my self-portrait, again using the grid method on an old photo Lana found of me when I was probably in my 30s, judging by the curly hair. She took the photo below, asking if I minded if she posted it to the Art Center's Facebook page. I told her and the others that would be all right, adding "I've never been on Faceberg." That got some giggles from the other artists who apparently are all Faceberg enthusiasts. Lana was able to see it there and get a screen shot....I may even be able to take up paint-
ing again, an avocation I used to enjoy
before I married Lana, and, when I
became Chairman, for which I could
find no time. The last portrait I painted,
shown on this page, was of Lana; it was
completed in 2003.
Last week, it was satisfying for
me to participate in an oil-painting
portrait workshop here at our excel-
lent Johnson County Arts Center. Like
riding a bicycle, painting came back to
me like I’d never hung up my brushes
and palette....
The photograph of me and my painting received 11 "likes" from Facebergers for what that's worth.
