Seaweed-knotted water sleepwalks to a welcome-mat shore,
bumps forgotten edges, backtracks just as bored.
Warm-wet sand grabs bare pink-bellied fingers and toes
crab-crawling here-and-there for shiny shells and who-knows.
Seagull sun dips down for toasty bits of unfurled fun
coasting, swirling, mostly silent-circling a loud little one
skipping shale pieces out over the peaceful lake
if not too thick to throw or so thin they break.
Up-up-up windswept stone steps zigzagging a shaggy hill
a young husband and wife sit witness to life picture-still
as kids toy and play below, two hearts glow, and aim
to live each day this wishful way wrapped in joy with no name.

Re: Beach Bums
Wonderful. This reminds me of sitting on the beach in Sarasota
Re: Beach Bums
I like the imagery in this one. I almost feel like I am at the beach.
