Were it a halfway symmetrical conflict, Palestinians and friends would have the ability to cut off Israeli's electricity and water, and block their importation of food, medicine, etc. - not just the inverse that the U.S. supports unquestioningly. Hopefully Iran will soon have the nuclear option to even things up in the one-sided conflict.

Another thing to consider: of the current number of Americans held as hostages or killed by Hamas, how many are actually Jews or dual citizens? Media know who they are, so where is a list of their names?

An Israeli lawmaker has urged her government to consider using nuclear weapons in their war against Hamas.

"Jericho missile! Jericho missile! A strategic alert, before we consider introducing our forces. A doomsday weapon!" Revital "Tally" Gotliv, a member of the Israeli parliament, wrote in a post on X on Monday. "This is my opinion. May God preserve all our strength."

Gotliv's post — which had been viewed over 2.1 million times at press time — referenced Israel's Jericho ballistic missiles. Israel's government has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of its nuclear arsenal.

The lawmaker said in a subsequent post on Tuesday that Israel needs to be merciless when dealing with the Palestinian militant group....

Another thing to consider: of the current number of Americans held as hostages or killed by Hamas, how many are actually Jews or dual citizens? Media know who they are, so where is a list of their names?

That was my first question when I heard on the radio of the "american citizens" held by the Palestinians. I don't know about anybody else, but I would be hard pressed to find a reason to visit an open air prison in the middle east that is liable to erupt at any moment. What were these "americans" doing there?

Of course, we already know the answer to these questions, and the media silence on them is confirmation enough. The Jews who were caught by the Palestinians were there to do what Jews do - take what isn't theirs.

The latest development i noticed this morning was a commercial for the Fellowship of Christians and Jews on the FOX News channel. The Fellowship has abandoned its silly commercials begging dim-witted Christian fundamentalists to send $25 to help starving Holocaust survivors in Russia and Ukraine. Now the Fellowship is begging the same target audience to send $45 to aid Israelis under attack.

2,000 servicemen, including no doubt some servicewomen fill 4,000 boots. That's a lot of American boots on the ground in the shooting war in Jew-occupied Palestine. I recall when U.S. Special Forces troops were deployed to South Vietnam in an "advisory" capacity in the early 1960s; it wasn't long before they were being killed left and right in combat.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — On paper, the agenda must have seemed dry, an accounting of flights out of Israel, of military equipment going into Israel and of call centers.

But amid the niceties that routinely mark the opening of such meetings, Shelley Greenspan, the White House liaison to the Jewish community, couldn’t hold back on Tuesday. She looked at each of the officials flanking her on the desk in the White House’s West Wing: Jon Finer, the deputy national security advisor, on her left and Liz Sherwood-Randall, President Joe Biden’s homeland security advisor, on her right. All three are Jewish.

“I give a shoutout to my colleagues here at the White House who are doing everything imaginable to protect Americans at the direction of the president and to make sure that conflict really just subsides,” Greenspan said, choking back tears. “And truly, thank you, guys, for checking in on me the other day. Thank you for not getting any sleep and doing everything you can, Jon.”

Finer cast his eyes down. Sherwood-Randall rubbed Greenspan’s back.

It was a snapshot of how Jewish White House staffers are grappling with how the worst attack on civilians in Israel’s history is both a political crisis and, for them and all Jews, a personal tragedy. On Saturday morning, Hamas terrorists crossed into Israel from the Gaza Strip by land, sea and air, killing over 1,200 people.

“We see you and stand with you,” Finer said. “Many of us — look at the three of us up here — are of this community. And it meant a lot to us to be here and to be able to speak with you today.”

The briefing took place just after Biden delivered one of the most impassioned speeches of his career, describing the attacks as a “pure, unadulterated evil.” Biden was flanked by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is Jewish, and Vice President Kamala Harris, whose husband, Doug Emhoff, is Jewish.

The White House is staging an all-out engagement with the Jewish community. The online briefing Tuesday afternoon was to be followed by an in-person roundtable with Jewish leaders on Wednesday evening, which Biden will address. On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray will address an online briefing by the Secure Community Network, the consultancy for the national Jewish community....
Finer went over the details of an emergency lift of military equipment to Israel. “The first shipment of military aid including munitions began moving yesterday,” he said. “We believe it is arriving today. And there will be more to come.”
