Israeli Culture

Lior Yisraelov, who grew up in a religious Zionist community
in south Tel Aviv, now performs as Suzi Boum — fake eyelashes,
blond wig, and glittering clothes included.

To become Suzi Boum, it takes Lior Yisraelov about an hour.
It’s a routine Yisraelov has nailed down: First he shaves, then
he applies layers of makeup. Next, fake eyelashes, and finally
the blond wig, the glittering clothes and the over-the-top
accessories. Over the years, Suzi Boum’s look has stayed more
or less the same. But Yisraelov, 33, has undergone several
transformations — from a yeshiva boy to an openly gay Arabic
teacher to Israel’s most in-demand drag queen.

“I would say he’s the most successful drag queen in Israel,”
said Dekel Lazimi, 28, a filmmaker who is making an online
video series about his friends in Tel Aviv’s drag scene.
“Lior is the only one that has really broken out of the
gay scene and into TV and stuff.”

Holy cow. Creepy.

Reminds me of something funny that I read about an Orthodox practice amongst a certain sect in Israel- women are not allowed to sing-males are not allowed to listen to female singing, because it's considered a sexually arousing act. So all of the female vocal parts of songs are sung by males in their highest attempted soprano voices.
It's a rabbinical interpretation of Talmudic or Tannach law, I believe.

So...did they just decide to go further and become full on drag queens? :?

There may be a biological basis for this, and what I'm referring to is that some population groups could possibly have higher rates of homosexuality and/or deviant sexual behavior than the main heterosexual group than others. I'm not an anthropologist by any means, but am sharing an observation that I've made over a good amount of time. That said, it does seem as though Jews have many more deviants than our group.
Activism materials available! ===> Contact me via PM to obtain quantities of the "Send Them Back", "NA Health Warning #1 +#2+#3" stickers, and any fliers listed in the Alliance website's flier webpage.

If I am not mistaken, I believe these people also fly F-15s for the so-called "Israel Air Force."
