Re: Life After Death
That's an excellent question. Cosmotheism is a practical belief system, rooted in reality and concrete evidence. A few things are facts that we can observe.
-We are part of the Creator, which is the cosmos, the whole.
-A necessary trait of a living thing is death, the passing of consciousness out of the living matter.
-The result of death is the decay of the matter, nourishing that which feeds on decay, and continuing the unending tide of life.
-The level of consciousness, or divine spark, is less in some and more in others, between groups of animals, races of people, and between individuals.
-That level is inherited from parent to child, and is encoded deep in the individual's DNA.
From these things I extrapolate that consciousness is passed through generations, and never dies. Therefore, the afterlife is the continuation of our race in future generations.
